iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will be very different in appearance: not only the cameras will be different, but also the design of the front surface

According to the Chinese source Mydrivers, without naming their informants, only two models in the new iPhone 14 line will receive a screen without the famous bang-shaped cutout.

Those models will be the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which will feature a small opening for the front camera, as shown in early renders of these devices. As for the standard version of the iPhone 14 with a screen diagonal of 6.1 inches, as well as the new model called the iPhone 14 Max, which will receive a screen diagonal of 6.5-6.7 inches, they will retain the bangs. This will further separate the standard models and the Pro versions from each other. Now you will not need to turn the smartphone over to see the number of cameras and understand whether this is a regular model or a Pro.

It is also reported that users who are eagerly awaiting the return of the TouchID fingerprint scanner may be disappointed, as this technology is unlikely to appear in the iPhone 14. Although, judging by the survey, users want to see both Face ID and Touch ID on the iPhone.

As we previously reported, a company from the Apple supply chain has confirmed that the iPhone 14 will be phasing out the bangs: the necessary technical basis for this is already in place.

Google Pixel 6 Pro vs iPhone 13 Pro Max. Which camera is better?

Published

on

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro reviews are finally allowed to be published, and a lot of them have appeared on the web. In this case, we’ll take a look at one of the fairly well-researched reviews that compare the Pixel 6 Pro’s camera to the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s camera.

The first thing the reviewer pays attention to is that the microphones in the Google smartphone work much better in the presence of strong noise in the form of wind. The iPhone 13 Pro Max does not cope, because of which the person’s speech is not heard, but the Pixel 6 Pro is able to save the situation.

The camera in the new Google also works better, providing both better approximation and better detail.

The portrait mode is different for the devices, but each has its strengths and weaknesses. For example, the Apple device is poor at detecting glass objects, with which its opponent has no problems. Macro is definitely better on the Apple flagship due to the corresponding ultra-wide-angle camera mode. The Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, plays out when it comes to additional camera features.

As for the most important thing, photography and video on the main camera, everything is more interesting here. In terms of photo quality, smartphones are comparable, although there are many differences. For example, Google’s new product is definitely better at working out the HDR mode. The Pixel 6 Pro also has better night photos. The iPhone still captures video better, and it also has a better front camera, both in photo quality and in video quality.

As a result, it will not be possible to choose an unambiguous winner here. Smartphones are similar in quality in general, but in a particular mode, one or another is better.

According to rumors, Huawei has made serious progress in supplying components for its promising flagships of the Mate 50 line. Sources say that the most painful issue with single-chip systems has been resolved – Snapdragon 898 (albeit without a 5G modem) will be shipped by Qualcomm. In general, the future of the Mate 50 does not seem as vague as in the summer, but it is not yet clear what the smartphone will look like. One of the designers tried to offer his own vision of the Mate 50. And the person was inspired, apparently, the Huawei P50 Pro.

The Mate 50 shown in these renders is very similar to the P50 Pro, especially if we talk about the front panel with a screen extending to the side edges and a front camera embedded in the center.

If in the P50 Pro the main camera is shifted to the left, then in the Mate 50 it is located in the center. The modules are housed in two circular floors, all combined into one large circular chamber unit. Huawei has experimented with round camera blocks more than once, so such a solution may well be implemented in a production model. The designer, as you can see, depicted five modules, one of which is a periscope camera. The Huawei P50 Pro has one less module.

Untethered jailbreak of iPhone up to iOS 14.5.1 released

Published

on

Hacker and security specialist Linus Henze has released the Fugu14 untethered jailbreak tool for iPhones running up to iOS 14.5.1.

Fugu14 supports iPhone smartphones with Apple A12, Apple A13 and Apple A14 SoCs running iOS 14.3 – 14.5.1. The peculiarity of untethered jailbreak is that when you restart your phone, the jailbroken state is not lost. You don’t have to connect your device to your computer after every smartphone reboot.

Fugu14 support has already been added in unc0ver v7.0.0. Soon, the tool will be integrated into the Taurine jailbreak. However, the author of the tool himself warns that for now Fugu14 is intended for experienced developers, and not for ordinary users. To use Fugu14, you need to connect your Mac to your smartphone, Xcode, ideviceinstaller and other tools must be installed on the computer.

iOS 14.4 and iOS 14.5 were released quite a long time ago, so there are not so many devices running on these versions of the software. So far, Linus Henze is not talking about jailbreaking iOS 15.

Although recently the hacker group Pangu Lab performed the world’s first remote jailbreak on the iPhone 13 Pro and gained full access to the phone.
