iPhone 12 will not be banned in France: Apple will release iOS 17.1 within 10 days, which will reduce the radio frequency radiation of the smartphone

Following the recall of the iPhone 12 due to excessive specific absorption rates (SAR), Apple has committed to releasing the update in France. The patch will be available to all French users no later than October 24“, ANFR reported.

The agency also added that after the update, the specific absorption rate (SAR) will not exceed the country’s limit of 4 W/kg. Apple has already tested the beta version of iOS 17.1, which recorded a decrease in SAR; it remains to release the final version of the patch.

It became known recently that the iPhone 12 exceeds the radio frequency radiation standards adopted in France. French Digital Economy Minister Jean-Noël Barrault threatened to stop selling this model in the country if Apple does not correct the situation.

From a technical point of view, the device is not bad, and for such a price it is very good. It is based on the Unisoc T606 SoC, which scores about 240,000 points in AnTuTu 10. There is 3 GB of RAM, 64 GB of flash memory, a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5000 mAh battery. And the 6.6-inch screen with HD+ resolution also supports a frame rate of 90 Hz. In addition, there is an element that imitates the Dynamic Island of the iPhone.

It remains to add that the dimensions here are 164 x 75.6 x 8.5 mm with a weight of 184 g.
