Soyuz rocket manufacturer has patented a space rocket surveillance system

The Progress Rocket and Space Center (part of Roscosmos) has submitted an application for a patent for an Earth remote sensing system that will be able to conduct observations in the optical and infrared ranges. The relevant document was distributed by the Federal Institute of Industrial Property.

Soyuz rocket manufacturer has patented a space-rocket surveillance system

Soyuz rocket

The document specifies that the system includes both the launch vehicle and the observation spacecraft itself. It is assumed that the satellite will be able to turn in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the orbit.

“The maximum transverse dimension of the spacecraft does not exceed 0.6 of the diameter D of the payload zone of the launch vehicle, the maximum height of the spacecraft does not exceed D, the size of the aperture of optoelectronic equipment d can be in the range from 0.11 D to 0.25 D”says the patent application.

Now the Aist-2D satellite, which was created at the Progress RCC (manufacturer of Soyuz rockets), is operating in orbit. Usually its cameras are pointed at the Earth, since it is an Earth remote sensing apparatus. To shoot other celestial bodies, the orientation of the apparatus is changed. In particular, this made it possible to monitor from space the uncontrolled deorbit of the second stage of the Long March-5B (Changzheng-5B) launch vehicle. At the moment, RCC “Progress” is creating the satellite “Aist-2T” for stereoscopic imaging of the Earth. It will be the first spacecraft to be launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome on the Angara launch vehicle.

We have already talked about the Changan Shenlan SL03 electric car, which was shown at the auto show in Chongqing, China, and now we are talking about a more affordable model, but in a more popular format – the Changan Oshan Z6 crossover.

Oshan is Changan’s youth-oriented car brand. As part of the line, there are expensive models, and more affordable ones. Oshan Z6 is one of the latest.

The crossover stands out for its exterior with many sharp lines – something similar is in the Lexus. At the same time, the rear of the car is reminiscent of the Jaguar F-Pace with its long narrow lamps. In general, Oshan Z6 has two conceptual versions: the base one with a conventional internal combustion engine, the top one is a rechargeable hybrid. They, of course, differ in power parameters and price, but there are slight differences in the exterior and interior.

Car dimensions – 4699 x 1890 x 1660 mm, wheelbase length – 2795 mm. The standard wheels for this car are 225/55 R19, in the top version – 245/50 R20. The front uses MacPherson struts, the rear suspension is multi-link.

The top version of Oshan Z6 has as many as three screens, which is not quite typical for this price category. The main diagonal of 12.3 inches is fixed on the front panel, the instrument panel uses a screen with a diagonal of 10.25 inches. Finally, a third 9.1-inch screen is installed at the top of the center console, it is used mainly for navigation – displaying a map and tips. The top version also has a projection screen and the EaglePilot 7.0 driving assistance system, which includes 12 ultrasonic sensors, 3 mm radars and 5 cameras.

Changan Oshan Z6 is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 188 hp, coupled with a seven-speed “robot” 7DCT (with two clutches). Drive – only front. In the future, the manufacturer promises to bring to market a “charged” version of the crossover – with a 233 hp engine.

The base version of the Changan Oshan Z6 costs $14,930. It is equipped with a rear-view camera, LED headlights, cruise control, and “only” two screens (there is no smallest one – the one located at the top of the center console). The top version for $19,420 has adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree surround view system, 6 speakers, atmospheric lighting with 64 LEDs, etc.

The hybrid version of the car is called the Z6 iDD. There is also a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, but it already produces 166 hp. On the front axle is a 150 hp electric motor. Also in the power plant is a CATL traction battery with a capacity of 28.4 kWh and a 6-speed transmission with three clutches. This suggests that there are three modes of operation: ICE only, hybrid and purely electric mode. The power reserve in the latter case is 150 km (according to measurements by the NEDC method). The cost of a hybrid is from 23,290 to 26,280 dollars.

Huawei Mate 50 is ready It can be presented on

The fact that the Mate 50 will be has been known for a long time: Huawei officials have confirmed the release of a new flagship this year. The question was only in the timing of the announcement. At first it was said about May, then the deadline was moved “later” – first to June, and then to July. And now the source has announced a new date, and even a specific date is called – September 12th. If everything really happens, then the Mate 50 will be presented almost every day with the iPhone 14.

Huawei Mate 50 is ready. It can be presented on September 12

Mate 50 might look something like this

The source cites screenshots from some internal correspondence, from which two points follow. First, Huawei Mate 50 is already ready and it is sent for testing. The tests are needed not only to fully configure the hardware components (for example, ISP cameras), but also to debug the firmware – it is expected that the Mate 50 may be the company’s first production smartphone with HarmonyOS 3.0. Moreover, there are rumors that it is with the Mate 50 that HarmonyOS 3.0 could debut globally. Naturally, one cannot do without an extensive pre-release test program.

The second point, following from internal correspondence: Mate 50 will debut on September 12, and it will work under the control of a single-chip system Kirin 9000s. What kind of platform it is is known only to developers. But it is strange not to see the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4G in the flagship, which has been talked about a lot earlier. However, it is possible that the Mate 50 will have several versions, both with Kirin SoC and Qualcomm SoC.

There are no other details, but there is no doubt that the Mate 50 will receive a top-end camera – clearly no worse than the P50 Pro.
