Honor introduced the Honor 70 series smartphones in early June in China, and only now, two months later, the devices are finally making their global debut: in Europe (Germany), early pre-orders are already available (prices not announced, but for those interested in buying they promise 10- percentage discount), and Malaysia has already announced the cost – $ 450 for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. Open sales in Malaysia will start on August 26.

Honor 70, recall, is equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED screen with Full HD resolution and a frame rate of 120 Hz. The smartphone also received a 32-megapixel front camera and a main one with sensors with a resolution of 54 (Sony IMX 800), 50 and 2 megapixels. The battery has a capacity of 4800mAh and supports 66W fast charging. The hardware basis of the Honor 70 is the Snapdragon 778G Plus single-chip system, the software is Android 12 with the Magic UI 6.1 interface.

Today, Xiaomi released its financial report for the second quarter of 2022. Among other things, it provides interesting statistics on the proprietary MIUI shell.

According to Xiaomi, the total number of monthly active users in the second quarter successfully broke the record, reaching 547 million. The statistics take into account users from all over the world, not just in China.

If we take into account only China, then in July the number of monthly active users reached 140.2 million, also a new record high.

In total, there were 17.8 million new MIUI users worldwide and 4.6 million in China in the second quarter.

Recall that in November 2021, Xiaomi announced the overcoming of MIUI milestone of 500 million worldwide.

The official debut of MIUI took place in the summer of 2010, in August. The history of MIUI began with hundreds of beta testers. And five years later, in 2015, the number of users exceeded 100 million. Then growth began to accelerate. The company reported 200 million users in 2018 and 300 million in 2019. As of January 2021, the number of MIUI users worldwide has exceeded 400 million.

Samsung has released a software update for its older flagships, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8. It fixes problems with GPS and, judging by the fact that both phones are long out of production, the update is important.

Interestingly, Samsung is not only updating older flagships – a similar fix came out for the Galaxy J7, released seven years ago. It is reported that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S9 are also in line. Recall that the last update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge was released in November 2020, and the Galaxy S8 was last officially updated in April 2021.
