Introduced a revolutionary input method for virtual and augmented reality devices. Facebook implements this in a smart bracelet

Facebook has unveiled a smart bracelet that can control upcoming augmented reality (AR) glasses. The move will allow Facebook to compete with Apple in the next generation of computing.

This smart bracelet can use sensors to convert nerve signals that travel through the wrist to the palm into digital commands. They can be used to control device functions and interpret complex hand movements. Thus, it will allow the user to interact with the virtual world projected through the glasses using hand and finger movements.

Ultimately, Facebook hopes this technology will allow the wearer to move or manipulate, encompassing virtual objects in the real world, as well as entering text on a virtual keyboard. Facebook Chief Technology Officer Mike Schroepfer said: “One of the biggest challenges in augmented reality is data entry. From punch cards to keyboards, mice and touchscreens … it’s how people interact with them. ”

Over the years, Facebook has been developing its first pair of smart glasses. Mark Zuckerberg believes everyone will have smart glasses by the end of this century. According to reports, Facebook will release the first augmented reality glasses later this year.

Many manufacturers have released smart bracelets and watches that are used to track the user’s health and receive notifications from a smartphone. However, Facebook is the first major tech company to offer smart bracelets as a data input system for virtual and augmented reality.

Machine learning will allow this technology to adapt to each user by tracking their behavior. Thus, she will better predict in the future what they want to do. This system can understand your location and some information about key objects.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is the first smartphone with Android

Samsung’s flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold4, was unveiled this week and is immediately available for pre-order. According to Samsung, the new foldable flagship comes with One UI 4.1.1 out of the box and has a host of new features for optimal multitasking that have been developed “together with partners.”

The main attention during the announcement was given to design, screens and cameras, but an important novelty went unnoticed. The fact is that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is the first smartphone that will ship out of the box with the Android 12L operating system.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is the first smartphone with Android 12L

Google initially introduced the L version of Android 12 back in October 2021, and then reminded about it six months later. L stands for large screens, meaning this operating system is designed for foldable smartphones, tablets, and Chrome OS devices. Android 12L can be installed on any device, but it’s optimized for multitasking and apps have been redesigned for larger screens.

Google apps are arranged in two columns, making it easier to navigate on the square display, while productivity and social media apps also know when the device is folded, so they switch to their normal orientation.

Android 12L will only be in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 for now, the small Flip4 clamshell has received the standard version of Android 12.

In the morning we published a comparison of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Xiaomi Mix Fold 2.
