Despite the fact that the RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT are as similar as possible on the outside, they are still not identical. The older model has a length of 287 mm and weighs 1.8 kg, while the younger one, with a mass of 1.5 kg, is characterized by a length of 267 mm. By the standards of modern Nvidia flagships, these are very compact solutions. In addition, they occupy only 2.5 expansion slots instead of three or four for the new GeForce RTX 40 products. Actually, the general photo clearly shows how much smaller AMD new products are.

Of the less significant, we can note two power connectors (8 + 8), an air temperature sensor immediately behind the fan, as well as the same three red stripes on the radiator. It turns out that they symbolize the third generation of cards based on the RDNA architecture.

Recall that we have some comparisons of new products from AMD and Nvidia, but so far, unfortunately, not in games.

Following the older sister, the Radeon RX 7900 XT also appeared in the Geekbench database, which will be sold at a price of $ 900.

Now we have the results of both new AMD products in the same tests. And if cards from different manufacturers in such benchmarks can only be compared conditionally, then a comparison of cards from the same line is more revealing.

So, the RX 7900 XT scores about 205,600 points in OpenCL, and the result in Vulkan is about 162,200 points.

In the first case, this is exactly the level of the GeForce RTX 3090, in the second, the new AMD is confidently ahead of the more expensive RTX 4080 by $ 300.

If we talk about comparing the RX 7900 XT and XTX, the second one is about 10% faster. Actually, the price difference between them is almost the same, so the cards should be very close in terms of their profitability.

Recall that the price of the RX 7900 XT, according to available data, will compete with the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. New AMD cards will be released on December 13th.

It looks like the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card that came out of the rebranded RTX 4080 12GB will cost $900.

It is reported that this price has already been named to Nvidia partners. If the new product really costs $ 900, the RTX 4080 will not be able to get much cheaper. Recall, there are rumors that Nvidia will reduce the price of this adapter, but the card costs $1,200. Considering $900 for the RTX 4070 Ti, perhaps the RTX 4080 will drop in price by just $100. However, this is still just a rumour.

It’s also worth pointing out that if you’re looking solely at performance in TFLOPS, as it’s already known for the new card, the RTX 4070 Ti will outperform its older sister, offering 0.04459 TFLOPS per dollar versus 0.04065 TFLOPS per dollar for the RTX 4080. In comparison, the RTX 4090 scores as high as 0.05165.

In terms of actual performance, according to Nvidia’s own slides, the new product will perform on par with the RTX 3090 Ti or slightly weaker, but will outperform the latter when DLSS is activated.

As a reminder, new AMD graphics cards are also entering the market on December 13, and the RTX 4070 Ti will be a direct competitor for the Radeon RX 7900 XT.
