Intel’s last stronghold in Apple’s portfolio still holds. The new Mac Pro will not be shown at WWDC 2023

The new Apple Mac Pro will not be shown at the WWDC 2023 event, according to Bloomberg journalist and insider Mark Gurman.

Intel's last stronghold in Apple's portfolio still holds. The new Mac Pro will not be shown at WWDC 2023

He still expects the PC to come out this year, but there will be no announcement at the upcoming conference. Of course, Apple will already have something to show, but the same mixed reality headset will be a very specific product.

Considering the M2 Extreme SoC, which was credited as the top Mac Pro, has been cancelled, maybe Apple just needs time to build the most powerful new platform for its most powerful PC yet.

Recall that the current Mac Pro remains the last computer in the Apple line based on Intel processors. At one time, introducing the first MacBook based on Apple Silicon, the company said that it would transfer all its PCs to its own platforms within two years, but, as we see, it did not meet the deadlines.

Artificial intelligence will create new business opportunities and lead to economic growth that will create new jobs, according to IBM chief executive Arvind Krishna.

Krishna said he believes the net effect of AI on employment will be “job creation” rather than job destruction, although it will replace humans in certain jobs.

On Sunday, IBM announced plans to invest $100 million in a joint research project with the University of Tokyo and the University of Chicago in an attempt to build a 100,000-qubit quantum supercomputer in 10 years.

AI will lead to job creation, and commercial applications of quantum computers will begin soon, according to the head of IBM

“Japan has accumulated a lot of experience in the field of quantum computing, accumulated over decades,” said Krishna. — Physicists, engineers and materials scientists are working on different aspects. Many people may not realize how deep Japan is in these areas.”

He predicted that quantum computing technology would advance step by step as part of a collaborative project in the next decade, with commercial applications starting in three to five years: “This is the time when people will be solving some problems that are probably too expensive or impossible for conventional computers. To do this, we need between 4,000 and 10,000 qubits.”

In quantum computing, a qubit, or quantum bit, is the basic unit of information, just like a binary bit is in conventional computers.
