Intel’s flagship Arc Alchemist discrete graphics card couldn’t outperform the GeForce RTX 2070 in the new test, even though the GPU clocked at 2.4GHz
An engineering sample of Intel’s top-of-the-line Arc Alchemist graphics card was spotted in Geekbench’s OpenCL benchmark, and this time the GPU was clocked at 2.4 GHz. This is a decent frequency for an engineering sample, it is unlikely that the serial model will have it much higher. But even so, the performance of the video card is not yet impressive.
Recall that Intel believes that the top Arc Alchemist graphics card will compete with the Radeon RX 6700 XT and GeForce RTX 3070/3070 Ti, but so far, with a score of about 85,500 points, it bypasses only the GeForce RTX 2060 Super. The GeForce RTX 3070 is 60% faster in this test. And while OpenCL has little to do with gaming performance, Intel still has a lot of work to do.
Recall, the other day the company confirmed rumors circulating on the Web that Arc Alchemist for desktop computers will be released in the second quarter. That is, the earliest start of sales can be predicted for April, but, most likely, new items will appear in stores in May-June.

A “completely silent” 1300W power supply. Cooler Master showed two new products, but only the youngest received a passive CO

Cooler Master brought power supplies to Computex that they claim are absolutely silent.
The younger model with a power of 750 W is really silent, because it simply does not have a fan. By the way, this is the company’s most powerful power supply with passive cooling.
There is also a 1300W PSU. It has a fan, but Cooler Master also calls it completely silent.
The secret to successfully cooling such powerful PSUs without too much noise lies in the use of an evaporation chamber. There are no other details yet, as well as no pricing data.

Intel Meteor Lake processors will not be released until the end of the year, but a couple can be bought now

Intel just showed the Meteor Lake processor in operation for the first time today, and today a copy of such a processor appeared on eBay.
The OneClickWarehouse seller, according to the platform, has sold more than 221,000 lots and has a rating of 99.6%, so there is no particular doubt that this is not a fake.
The seller says that this is a processor with six large cores, eight small ones and a GT2 iGPU. The photos, unfortunately, for some reason are of very poor quality, but still one of them shows that the CPU consists of chiplets, which Intel calls tiles.
The seller also indicates that he has two such processors, but nothing is said about their condition. However, these are mobile CPUs that will enter the market only at the end of the year, so there is not much difference anyway. The seller is asking $1,000 for the lot.

So that no more GeForce RTX 4090s catch fire. MSI simply and elegantly solved the problem of the 12VHPWR power connector

MSI seems to have solved the problem with the 12VHPWR connector. It was enough just to paint it.
The company did not show at Computex the most simple and equally effective solution. It lies in the fact that a certain part of the connector is painted yellow.
When the connector is connected correctly, the yellow part is completely hidden in the case, which is an excellent indicator that the connector is inserted correctly. If, after connecting, the user sees yellow plastic, then he will connect the connector incorrectly.
The idea of MSI is very easy to implement by any manufacturer, so perhaps in the near future this coloring may become a standard. Of course, recently there has not been a single case of fire on the RTX 4090 or any other Nvidia video card, or it simply has not been reported, but in such a situation it will not be superfluous to play it safe.
