Intel’s first truly gaming graphics card in all its glory. Intel Xe-HPG (DG2) with performance higher than the GeForce RTX 3070, in live photos
A lot has been said on the web about the Intel XE-HPG video card – the first real model for gamers, and now its live photos have appeared. They have a video card in the classical sense: with two fans and a large heatsink pierced with heat pipes. This is what a powerful model should be.
And there is no doubt that it will be powerful: there is a GPU with 512 execution units and a frequency of up to 2.2 GHz – about the level of the AMD RX 6000 line models. 16 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit bus is also mentioned. Obviously, the gaming performance here will be uncompromising, but with such parameters of the memory subsystem, cryptocurrency miners can also turn their views on the new product – unless Intel comes up with some tricks on this score.
Two connectors for additional power supply – six and eight-pin – indicate a decent level of TDP. According to new data, it will be 275 watts against 225-250 watts, initially assumed.
Intel XE-HPG performance (this model is part of the DG2 line, which will include both desktop and laptop GPUs) is expected to be about halfway between the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080. That is, it will compete directly with the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti when she sees the light. Moreover, XE-HPG, in addition to supporting real-time ray tracing, is also credited with support for XeSS technology – an analogue of DLSS, so the performance in games promises to be very good.
Judging by the characteristics, Intel XE-HPG could revive the market in times of strong shortage of Nvidia and AMD video cards, but if it does it, it will not be soon: it will be launched into the series only by the fourth quarter of this year. So if XE-HPG appears on store shelves this year, then in very small quantities, but already in 2022 it will be easier to buy it.

Kingston’s first hardware-encrypted, touchscreen external SSD introduced, compatible with any OS

Kingston introduced the IronKey Vault Privacy 80 SSD lineup. This is the company’s first OS-independent external SSD with a touch display and hardware-based data encryption. Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 80 is compatible with Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS and any other operating system that supports USB storage. The line includes models with a capacity of 480 GB, 960 GB and 1920 GB, the manufacturer offers a three-year warranty and free maintenance.
IronKey Vault Privacy 80 is FIPS 197 certified with a 256-bit XTS-AES key and is able to protect user data from brute force attacks and BadUSB hijacking. Among the options – the ability to set multiple passwords (administrator / user), the choice between PIN and passphrase, setting password entry rules (length from 6 to 64 characters, alphanumeric combinations). The device will automatically lock if it is not used for a set period of time, and if the password is entered incorrectly 15 times in a row, then a crypto-erasure of the data will occur (all security keys are deleted). Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 80 can also work in write-protect mode to prevent malware from entering. With all this, the drive is quite compact: its dimensions are 122.5×84.2×18.4 mm.

The huge and incredibly voracious GeForce RTX 3090 Ti can already be bought for less than the recommended price. EVGA offers these cards for $1,900

The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti video card, despite its status and limited supplies, did not just reach the recommended price, but fell below it faster than all other models in the line.
EVGA decided it was time to sell the new product for $1900, which is $100 less than the recommended price. For this money, the FTW3 RTX 3090 Ti Black model is offered without factory overclocking, but with a large cooling system that is no different from those used in the company’s faster cards.
So far, EVGA is the only one selling the RTX 3090 Ti at this price, but there are already quite a few offerings in the US for $2,000. However, it’s not a fact that there are many who want even $ 1,900, given that this is a high price in absolute terms, as well as the fact that there is not much time left before the release of GeForce RTX 40 cards.

The Ryzen 9 7950X will be able to run at 5.5GHz for multiple cores without any overclocking. AMD reveals demo details at Computex

Two days ago, AMD formally unveiled the Ryzen 7000 processors without giving much away. But she showed the new CPU at 5.5 GHz and the game Ghostwire: Toyko. And now it became known that there was no talk of overclocking then.
The company has confirmed that the 16-core processor has not been overclocked, meaning 5.5GHz is in line with the specs. It is also worth mentioning here that the demonstration stand included Asetek liquid cooling, but this does not mean at all that such a frequency for this CPU will be achievable only with similar COs.
Moreover, the frequency of 5.5 GHz was achieved not by one core, but by several, but there are no details. AMD said that under load, the frequency fluctuated between 5.2-5.5 GHz for several cores. That is, ordinary users who buy such a CPU should also count on this.
As for the name of the CPU, AMD itself, of course, does not name it in any way yet, but most sources talk about the Ryzen 9 7950X, which is logical, since AMD has not changed the principles of naming its CPUs for a long time.
