Intel’s 65-watt mobile monster and a mysterious budget employee. There are details about the Core i9-11980HK and Core i5-11260H

Recently, a description of three Intel Tiger Lake-H45 processors was found in the documentation for one of the corporate PCs. These were the Core i5-11400H, Core i7-11800H and Core i9-11900H models.

Then, among other things, we were surprised by the lower base frequencies than those previously featured in all the leaks. Now we have an explanation for this, as well as data on several more CPUs of the upcoming line.

  • 11980HK: 2.6-4.5-5.0 GHz @ 45W and 3.3 GHz @ 65W
  • 11900H: 2.5-4.4-4.9 GHz @ 45W and 2.1 GHz @ 35W
  • 11800H: 2.4-4.2-4.6 GHz @ 45W and 2.0 GHz @ 35W
  • 11400H: 2.7-4.1-4.5 GHz @ 45W and 2.2 GHz @ 35W
  • 11260H: 2.6-4.0-4.4 GHz @ 45W and 2.1 GHz @ 35W

The first three CPUs will have eight cores, the last two will have six cores. As you can see, noticeably lower base frequencies are needed to reduce CPU power consumption. That is, new items with a standard TDP of 45 W will be able to work at a TDP of 35 W. Probably, as always, this or that mode will be initially chosen by the PC manufacturer, so when buying a laptop with Tiger Lake-H45 and wanting to get the maximum performance, you will need to select the appropriate model.

We should also highlight the flagship Core i9-11980H, for which a 65-watt mode will be available. However, his predecessor has the same thing now.

This, by the way, is one of the processors that was not in the previous leak. But we have never heard of the Core i5-11260H (possibly, it will be Core i3-11260H). Not only is this the youngest Tiger Lake-H45 known to us, but it also has a non-standard name. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear why it differs from most of the other processors in the line.

One of Asia’s largest telecoms and pay-TV operators, Japanese company Sky Perfect JSat, has announced that it plans to use the SpaceX Starship interplanetary spacecraft to launch its Superbird-9 telecommunications satellite into geosynchronous orbit in 2024. The details of the deal were not disclosed.

The SpaceX Starship interplanetary spacecraft has not yet made a single orbital flight, but the Japanese have already announced the launch of their telecommunications satellite on it

The situation is noteworthy in that Starship has not yet made a single orbital flight: Elon Musk promises to launch Starship on a test flight into orbit almost every month for about a year, but it is delayed each time. However, there is no contradiction that an interstellar spacecraft to launch a payload into orbit: in concept, Starship should replace all of SpaceX’s current rockets, including the workhorse Falcon 9, which goes into space every week.

Hackers cracked the latest Pentagon technology

Hackers at the DEF CON 2022 event in Las Vegas managed to break into a new technology of the US Department of Defense – local autonomous electrical networks (microgrids) at military bases.

Hackers cracked the latest Pentagon technology

The Pentagon has tested the technology to look for vulnerabilities. Many of the more than 1,700 DEF CON members have successfully shut down a dummy network that mimics the one being prepared by the Pentagon. So, one of the hackers found out that microgrids work on the Kelvin temperature scale, which does not use negative values. As a result, he put negative numbers in the forecast model, which caused the system to crash.

The Pentagon said they also plan to launch a full-fledged program to further test the microgrid and find gaps. A microgrid is a technology for dividing one power system into sections. Each cell is able to work autonomously if necessary and actively uses alternative energy sources.
