We already know a lot about Intel Alder Lake processors coming out towards the end of the year. But about the next Raptor Lake, which are expected in 2022, previously knew almost nothing. But today the first information appeared, and at once very detailed.

So, desktop Raptor Lake will retain both the 10nm process technology, and the LGA 1700 performance, and the heterogeneous architecture with large and small cores. At the same time, the small ones will not change either – they will be based on the Gracemont architecture. But at the same time there will be more of them! In the maximum configuration, they will not be 8, but 16. At the same time, the number of large cores will not change, but they will switch to the Raptor Cove architecture.

Intel will release 24-core desktop processors next year, but Raptor Lake, but there will still only be eight large cores.

As a result, top-end CPUs will contain 24 cores and will be able to execute 32 threads, since small cores do not support Hyper-Threading.

Also, the source confirms the information about CPU Alder Lake configurations that appeared on the Web more than once.

The only thing that can be noted is the mention of the HX line of processors. These are mobile high-performance CPUs, likely replacing the unlocked HK models. Such solutions with a TDP of 45-65 W will be released only in the second quarter of 2022.

Separately, the source notes that the architectures that Intel will release after 2022 will be exponentially more powerful than their predecessors.
