Intel has not yet announced Sapphire Rapids processors for workstations, but their parameters have already been leaked to the Web.

Intel will once again try to fight the Ryzen Threadipper with the Xeon W-3400 and W-2400. Became known characteristics and prices

According to these data, the Xeon W-3400 line will have models with at least 12 to 56 cores. Recall that technically four Sapphire Rapids tiles contain 60 cores.

Such CPUs will have TDPs up to 350W and prices will range from $1,190 to $5,590. The processors will receive 112 PCIe lanes and will support up to 4TB of RAM in a maximum of eight modules.

The Xeon W-2400 line will also be released, the processors in which will be simpler and more affordable.

As you can see, the base models will be six-core CPUs, while the top one will offer only 24 cores. At the same time, in all the negotiated new products, the cores will only be large.

Prices for the Xeon W-2400 will range from $360 to $2200. Such CPUs will also support up to 2 TB of RAM, they will only have 64 PCIe lanes, but the TDP will be lower.

The W-2400 and W-3400 lines will be similar in positioning to the Ryzen Threadripper and Threadripper Pro. Admittedly, AMD doesn’t offer a very affordable Threadripper right now.

The device uses 232-layer Micron memory and a Phison controller. Retail options will come with 1, 2 and 4 TB of flash memory. Interestingly, the T700 will have both a version with a heatsink (with advanced fins and no noisy fan) and a regular version without any cooling. One of the materials demonstrates very well what a cooling system is.

Technically, this is a stripped-down mobile GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop, that is, we are talking about 2048 CUDA cores and 4 GB of memory, but the bus is halved to 64 bits.

At the same time, TGP is only 25 watts. True, despite this, the device still requires a power connection, although almost any charger with USB Power Delivery 3.0+ support will do here. Connection to a PC is implemented via Thunderbolt 3.

The dimensions of the novelty are 106 x 72 x 25 mm with a weight of 250 g, that is, you can easily take a 3D card with you if necessary.

The price is still unknown, and sales will begin in June.

Among the Radeon RX 7900 and GeForce RTX 40 there

All the latest news regarding the reduction in the price of AMD video cards concerned the latest RX 7900 models. Meanwhile, the previous generation sometimes looks more attractive. For example, the Radeon RX 6950 XT is currently on sale for just $656!

Apparently, this is the lowest price (or one of the lowest) for such an adapter since the release. Recall that the RX 6950 XT initially started at $1,100.

For $ 656 they give the XFX Speedster Merc 319. But this is in the USA, that is, the price is excluding taxes. In Europe, the cheapest option already with taxes is given for 720 euros, and this is the Sapphire Nitro card.

According to AMD itself, the RX 7900 XT is only 5-7% faster than the RX 6950 XT. At the same time, the cheapest RX 7900 XT will now cost $ 800. The GeForce RTX 40 line also does not offer similar price-performance ratios, since the RTX 4070 Ti will cost at least the same $ 800.
