Intel unintentionally showed 34-core processors, where all the cores are large

Intel introduced the Raptor Lake processors, where the flagship is the Core i9-13900K with 8 large and 16 small cores, that is, it has a total of 24 cores. But perhaps Intel has something even more impressive?

At the Intel Innovation 2022 event, the company demonstrated a wafer with Raptor Lake crystals. Not only are the crystals themselves clearly not the same as those of the new Core desktop products, the label also directly indicates that these are 34-core processors.

The study of the crystals showed that probably all 34 nuclei are large. Interestingly, the Intel booth staff had no idea what kind of CPU it was.

Presumably, these may be processors of the Sapphire Rapids family, which are expected next year. They should come out both in the server segment and in the segment of solutions for workstations. Perhaps the latter will be promoted as part of the Raptor Lake line, although the labeling may simply be a mistake.

The culprits behind the rise in price of the GeForce

As you know, from the moment it became known that supplies of GeForce RTX 4090 video cards to China would be prohibited, adapters have risen sharply in price in China itself, but prices have also increased in the USA and Europe. Now those responsible have been found. At least partly.

The culprits behind the rise in price of the GeForce RTX 4090 outside of China have been found. Various sellers are stockpiling cards to sell to China

There are reportedly unscrupulous sellers who do not sell their RTX 4090 in their countries, but stockpile them for resale to China. Of course, because of the double or more markups, you can make very good money on this. Of course, such actions lead to a shortage of adapters in a particular market, increased demand and, as a result, higher prices. At least this is what sellers in Vietnam do, but probably not only there.

Prices in the USA and Europe have recently risen to 2000 dollars/euro for the most affordable options, and are not going to go down yet.

Let us remind you that Chinese craftsmen began to convert the GeForce RTX 4090 into accelerators for AI, and now they have even created the RTX 3080 20GB and Radeon RX 580 16GB.

The campaign price is $600. At retail, the device will cost $790, which is more expensive than a similar product from GPD. However, let us remind you that OneXGPU is not just an external video card with a large set of ports. There is a slot for an M.2 SSD, so all games can be stored directly on the video card.

Let us remind you that the OneXGPU is based on the mobile Radeon RX 7600M XT, which is identical in basic parameters to the desktop RX 7600. It is worth noting that in this case the TDP is 120 W. The dimensions of the device are 188 × 106 × 16 mm and weighs 789 g. You can also note a USB4 port, a pair of HDMI, a pair of DisplayPort, RJ45 and two USB 3.2. Active CO with an evaporation chamber is responsible for cooling. The Oculink port is used to connect to a PC or console, but USB4 can also be used.

The company promises deliveries in early 2024. The campaign, by the way, is already successful: with the requested $10,000, more than $110,000 has already been collected, and there is still a whole month left.

Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 20GB and Radeon RX 580 16GB

Chinese stores are flooded with gaming graphics cards that were never released for gaming. We are talking about GeForce RTX 3080 20GB and Radeon RX 580 16GB.

These accelerators were previously used for mining, but the boom in AI systems requiring large numbers of graphics cards has led to a shortage of gaming models in the consumer market. So the devices that were actively used in mining came into use.

Most of these accelerators had very simple cooling systems and did not have video connectors. Chinese craftsmen are fixing this: they install more powerful COs and solder video outputs on the card. According to MyDrivers, there are already many such models on the market.
