Intel quietly crept up to Nvidia where they weren’t expected. AI accelerator Intel Gaudi2 can compete with Nvidia A100 and H100

It seems that Intel can compete with Nvidia in a rather unexpected field. The first tests of the Intel Gaudi2 accelerator show that it can compete with the Nvidia A100 and even the H100 monsters in the tasks of training large language models.

Intel and Habana have published tests of the new accelerator in MLPerf, which can now at least somehow be used as a universal test. It is based on many tasks, but one of the most indicative is the learning rate of the GPT-3 model.

In the case of Gaudi2, 384 such accelerators trained the model in 311 minutes. Unfortunately, this cannot be compared directly with Nvidia’s results, as ideally it should be compared with a system comparable in price. There is evidence that more than 3,000 H100 accelerators can do this task in 11 minutes, but this is a completely different level.

At the same time, Intel itself claims that its accelerator surpasses the Nvidia A100 in terms of price and performance in FP16 calculations, and is expected to surpass the H100 in FP8 by September.

Given that there is a huge shortage of such AI accelerators on the market now, and the same Nvidia can not cope with demand, Intel solutions can be in great demand, even if in reality they are not as good as competitor products.

Cool Toyota Tundra 1794 Limited Edition presented super off road suspension

A special version of the Toyota Tundra SUV debuted in the United States. It got its name from the oldest ranch in Texas, founded in 1794 near what is now San Antonio. At one time, Toyota bought part of this ranch and built a plant on it, where they now produce the flagship Tundra and Sequoia models.

The Tundra 1794 Limited Edition has maximum equipment, and the main difference from the regular top-end Tundra is a genuine leather interior, created in collaboration with Saddleback Leather Company. The pockets on the backs of the rear seats are very elegantly made – like bags made of leather. The car is also supplied with a number of leather accessories, including a leather travel bag and a leather key case.

Some exterior elements of the Tundra 1794 Limited Edition are painted black (such as the grille). Changes in terms of technology – a new FOX suspension with FOX Internal Bypass shock absorbers with a diameter of 6.35 cm. Their installation made it possible to increase the ground clearance by 2.8 cm – and this is for a car whose base ground clearance is 236 mm!

The pickup received a top-end hybrid power plant I-FORCE Max with a power of 437 hp, a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with various locks.

The Toyota Tundra 1794 Limited Edition will go on sale in spring 2024. Closer to that time, the price will be announced, but it is already clear that this “Tundra” will be the most expensive in the line. By the way, a total of 1,500 copies will be collected and sold.

Neither in Blender nor in V Ray can the new Core

The results of testing the Core i9-14900K processor in tasks that can actually load modern multi-core processors have appeared on the Internet.

Neither in Blender nor in V-Ray can the new Core i9-14900K outperform the “old” Ryzen 9 7950X

In Blender, the new product scores almost 560 points, which is 6% more than the Core i9-13900KS. This is good considering that these are technically identical CPUs. The new product is already 8% ahead of its direct predecessor, the Core i9-13900K. However, the Ryzen 9 7950X is still a little faster.

In V-Ray, the new Intel flagship showed a result of 27,790 points, ahead of the Core i9-13900KS by 5% and its predecessor by 8%. But here again the AMD flagship is ahead.

Of course, it was clear in advance that Raptor Lake Refresh would only be a very minor update (except for the Core i7, which will get more cores), but now we can verify this not only through the results from Geekbench.

Is an entire era of Samsung coming to an end? In the latest renders, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is almost indistinguishable from the S23 Ultra, but the screen of the new product will apparently be flat

Is an entire era of Samsung coming to an end

The Samsung Galaxy S24, as we have already seen today, will be practically no different in appearance from the Galaxy S23. Now it has become clear that the same applies to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The same insider Steve Hemmerstoffer, known under the pseudonym Onleaks, also shared renderings of the older model of Samsung’s new flagship line. And here, too, it is very difficult to detect any differences.

In fact, they will be, but they will either not affect the appearance at all, or very slightly. For example, a titanium frame does not change the appearance of the smartphone. But you can see that the side edges will become even less curved than in the current generation, although they will not be completely flat.

In addition, judging by the images, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a flat screen. The glass itself is curved very slightly, but the screen looks like it will be completely flat. If so, then the Galaxy S24 Ultra will end the era of Samsung flagships and curved screens, which began with the Galaxy S6 Edge in 2015.
