Intel Permits Memory Overclocking on Budget Motherboards

It seems that Intel has nevertheless decided to take a serious step and will make their processors even more attractive to the general public. We are talking about support for new functions on chipsets of the budget lineup.

Rumor has it that the manufacturer of blue processors is going to make the dreams of many owners come true – now the memory can be overclocked and tuned not only on motherboards based on Z series chipsets, but also on the future B560. At least that’s what the famous @ harukaze5719 from Twitter says.

Harukaze5719 himself received information from Chinese sources who continue to share new details about the work of the next generation Intel Rocket Lake. According to the author of the resource ChipHell, the processors in his test assembly work on a motherboard with a B560 chipset, while the memory frequency reaches 4133 MHz in the XMP profile. In this situation, the Core i7 scores 4672 points in multi-threaded mode and 529 points in single-threaded mode in Cinebench R20. At the same time, the Core i7 10700 is gaining 4834 and 499 points, respectively.

It is worth considering the not yet maximum performance of the Core i7 11700, since the sample works at reduced frequencies and is an engineering version. But the ability to overclock the RAM on budget motherboards will be a great advantage for those who do not need a high processor frequency and increased heating, but want to improve performance with the right memory settings.

The manufacturer has released two models, one of which can attract additional attention at least for its performance. Model GeForce GTX 1630 OC Low Profile 4G, as the name implies, is based on a low-profile printed circuit board. In some cases, such adapters are preferable to conventional ones.

The card does not require additional power, and its port selection is wider than some other GTX 1630s, including DVI, a pair of HDMI and DisplayPort. The length of the card is only 167 mm.

There is also a slight overclocking: the GPU operates at a frequency of up to 1800 MHz against the factory 1785 MHz.

Also in the range of Gigabyte appeared and model GeForce GTX 1630 OC 4G with a core frequency of 1815 MHz and in the usual form factor. However, it does not have a second HDMI port.
