Intel is sending out new CPUs to reporters along with liquid cooling. It’s a hint?

Intel Rocket Lake processors, according to recent data, will hit the market on March 15th. As it turned out, a week ago Intel, together with MSI, began distributing test kits to the media.

Initially, they allegedly did not contain CPU and memory, but they already do. We are talking about the MEG Z590 Ace motherboard, an unknown CPU, which is likely to be the flagship Core i9-11900K, a DDR4-5333 memory kit and a new MSI MPG Coreliquid K360 liquid cooling system. The latter can be considered primarily as an advertisement for this cooler, but its presence in the kit suggests a high power consumption of the CPU.

Considering that less than a month is left before the start of sales, and the announcement will take place even earlier, it is likely that in the near future various leaks about the performance of new CPUs will start to appear on the Web.

A unique camera autofocus on all modules but also a

Tecno today introduced an unusual smartphone Phantom X2 Pro. He was the first in the world to receive a retractable portrait lens, and the camera module looks very unusual. Now, reviews and details have appeared on the Web.

A unique camera, autofocus on all modules, but also a lot of minuses. Tecno Phantom X2 Pro Reviews Appeared

Since the camera is the main feature of the device, it is worth clarifying that the main feature here is the 50-megapixel ISOCELL GNV sensor, which was used, for example, in the Vivo X80. This is a very large 1/1.3″ optical format sensor using an RGBW pixel arrangement. The portrait camera is based on a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor in 1/2.76-inch optical format, while the wide-angle camera received a rare Samsung S5K3L6 in 1/3-inch optical format. None of the cameras have optical stabilization, but all have autofocus.

According to the GSM Arena review, in general, the smartphone’s cameras are quite good.

At the same time, the Phantom X2 Pro still falls short of many flagships from more famous companies. The novelty does not have water protection, the screen is far from the brightest and does not support HDR video, charging is not the fastest and there are no stereo speakers.

At the same time, the price of the novelty is far from low. So far, it is only known that in Saudi Arabia they are asking for about $ 930 for the device.

New research shows laser exposure to the brain improves memory

Researchers who are developing new non-invasive laser therapies to improve brain function have confirmed that people’s short-term memory can be improved using a laser. It stimulates the right prefrontal area in the brain. This is called transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM).

New research shows laser exposure to the brain improves memory

The first studies were conducted on mice, and now scientists from the University of Birmingham and Beijing Normal University of China have conducted similar tests on humans. They were attended by 90 men and women aged 18 to 25 years. They were asked to memorize a series of items that were shown on a screen.

The experiments used a laser with a wavelength of 1064 nanometers. After 12 minutes of stimulation, short-term memory improved up to 10%.

So far, scientists do not know exactly why this effect works and how long it lasts. Therefore, more research is expected. However, in the future, it is possible that tPBM technology will become a solution for non-invasive and non-pharmacological treatment of ADHD (hyperactivity disorder) or other attention deficit disorders.

Experiments of this kind are being conducted not only with lasers, but also with electrical and ultrasonic brain stimulation. However, none of the technologies has reached the commercial level so far.

A social network is built into the alternative browser Vivaldi

The most important, but far from the only innovation, was the proprietary social network built into the browser. In November, Vivaldi developers announced the launch of their own social network based on the Mastodon decentralized network. The service has now been added to the browser. The social network is available as a cell on the Express Panel, as well as through the Vivaldi Social sidebar.

Also, users got the opportunity to pin groups of tabs, you can delete and move elements on the sidebar, colored icons were added to the browser settings. In addition, the developers have done a lot of work on the bugs, fixing about one and a half hundred shortcomings, errors and shortcomings.
