Intel has finally overcome the problem of its discrete Arc A7 graphics cards, which has plagued them since the release. Now these adapters do not consume much power when connecting multiple monitors.
A fresh driver with the number 31.0.101.4146 solves the problem, albeit with reservations. Consumption when connecting two monitors is reduced from 40 watts to just 8-9 watts, which is very good. True, there is a nuance.
The core of the problem has always been that graphics cards simply don’t go into low power mode when more than one monitor is connected. Because of this, the same Arc A770 in this mode consumed about 40-45 watts, while Nvidia and AMD adapters of similar performance required only 18-20 watts each.
The new driver solves this problem, but only for a dual monitor configuration. If there are more monitors, the adapters will still not go into power saving mode.
Promotional materials for the Crucial T700 solid-state drive have been published on the Web. In them, Micron lists all the characteristics of the device and notes that the T700 is the fastest SSD on the planet.
Claimed sequential read and write speeds are 12,400 and 11,800 MB/s, respectively. The creators talk about two times the superiority of PCIe 4 SSDs and 22 times the superiority of SSDs with SATA interfaces.
The device uses 232-layer Micron memory and a Phison controller. Retail options will come with 1, 2 and 4 TB of flash memory. Interestingly, the T700 will have both a version with a heatsink (with advanced fins and no noisy fan) and a regular version without any cooling. One of the materials demonstrates very well what a cooling system is.
