Cache size grows with the number of cores
The official announcement of Raptor Lake processors, which should replace Alder Lake, is expected at the end of this year. There will be no special changes in comparison with the same Alder Lake, but we are waiting for an increase in the number of cores, slightly higher frequencies and, as the source writes, more cache memory.
An increase in the number of cores is inextricably linked with an increase in the amount of cache memory, so everything is logical here. If the top-end Core i9-12900K has 44 MB of cache (30 MB of the third level and 14 MB of the second level), then the Core i9-13900K will already have 68 caches, that is, already 54% more. The configuration of the flagship Raptor Lake should have 24 cores: 16 power efficient and 8 high performance.
Recall that at CES 2022, AMD announced the top-end gaming processor Ryzen 7 5800X3D with 96 MB of L3 cache. As you can see, the top Raptor Lakes in terms of cache memory will catch up with such exclusive competitor CPUs.
What video card is needed for such a screen? BOE showed a display with a frame rate of 600 Hz
BOE is working on the industry’s first 600Hz LCD panel. The network got frames from the official video, which demonstrates a laptop with a similar screen.
Details are at a minimum. It is known that the screen diagonal is 16 inches with an aspect ratio of 16:10. The laptop itself is based on one of the GeFoce RTX video cards.
Such a screen, by itself, will be aimed at gaming laptops. But it is still completely unclear when it will appear in production models. For example, BOE showed a 27-inch 500-Hz display back in January, but so far such monitors have not appeared on the market.
On the other hand, you need to understand that the increased frame rate of the screen is good when the number of frames per second in a particular game corresponds to this frequency. And to achieve 600 fps is possible only in fairly old or very simple games from a graphical point of view when using very productive video cards.

- 16 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD for $899;
- 32 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD for $999;
- 32 GB RAM / 2 TB SSD for $1199.
All options use LPDDR5-6400 RAM soldered on the motherboard, and the drives support the PCIe 4.0 NVMe standard. They can be replaced. Among the ports, we note USB4 with support for data transfer rates of 40 Gb / s and the connection of an external video card. There are also USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A.
Among other features, we note a 6-axis, improved vibration motor, analog sticks and additional buttons on the back. LED backlighting and a full keyboard are also announced. It is also illuminated, the brightness can be adjusted.

No more $100 GeForce RTX 3060. Used video cards skyrocketed in price at times
It looks like the market for used GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards is slowly moving away from ridiculously low prices.
According to the WCCF Tech resource, a month after the transition of Ethereum to Proof-of-stake, the market was flooded with adapters at bargain prices. For example, the RTX 3060 could be bought for as little as $100. Of course, this is a card after mining, but this is often not a sentence. However, these prices are no longer available.
On eBay, the RTX 3060 is now asking $300 on average, and the RTX 3080 Ti is $800 instead of $370 a couple of months ago. Not only is this an increase of two or three times literally in a month or two, but we are also talking about prices close to the prices of new 3D cards!
The source, of course, does not know the exact reasons for this situation, but suggests that the matter may be the depleted stocks of miners who sold cards for next to nothing, although this is unlikely. Another version is that the ultra-cheap cards were simply bought by speculators. In any case, the situation is rather unusual so far.
