More specifically, Polygon has launched a blockchain-based platform for filing police complaints called First Information Report (FIR) in India. The network’s co-founder Sandeep Nailwal tweeted that the Polygon protocol is now being used by the Firozabad district police in Uttar Pradesh, which has a population of over 2.8 million.

Sandeep Nailwal also tweeted a video featuring officer Ashish Tiwari, who revealed that the new pilot project is based on blockchain technology, the main advantage of which is that information cannot be faked or changed.

Tiwari added that this will make the process of filing a complaint easier by scanning a QR code and increase the transparency of the complaint process, which is limited to seven days.
