In such a place, no one has definitely installed the camera. Oppo offers to place it on the side of the smartphone

Everyone has long been accustomed to the fact that smartphones have a main camera on the back and a front camera on the front. The frontal one can sometimes be implemented not in the most usual ways, but the essence remains the same. What about the side camera?

This decision is described in a recent Oppo patent. The patent was filed in February and approved today. The document is called “Electronic device and method for controlling the direction of image capture for it.”

According to Oppo’s idea, the camera on the side is not needed for originality at all. This solution should allow you to better cope with scenarios when you need to shoot a moving object. And the camera on the side will allow you to do this without moving your smartphone.

The highlight is that it’s not really about an additional full-fledged camera. Only the lens will fit on the side edge. Inside, a system of mirrors will be placed, allowing the main module to use either the lens in the main camera block on the back cover, or the side lens. This should reduce costs, since neither the additional sensor itself nor the space to place it is required. True, such a solution makes impossible any scenarios that could be realized if there were a completely separate camera on the side edge.

Given the specificity of the idea, it is not at all a fact that it will ever be implemented in a serial product.

Its cooler than Apple and Microsoft Intel introduced the Unison

Intel has announced a new program called Unison that will allow you to connect iOS and Android smartphones to PCs with Intel processors. This will make it possible to actually transfer all the main functions of smartphones to a PC. This program was shown along with a PC with a sliding screen.

The new program will allow you to make and receive calls on your PC using your smartphone, send and receive text messages, transfer photos and files, and receive various notifications.

It’s somewhat similar to the Link to Phone app in Windows 10 and Windows 11, but Unison offers more options. If Link to Phone only works with Samsung smartphones and some other brands, then the new system will appear for all mobile devices. At the same time, the iPhone version will be slightly less functional – this applies to text messaging and managing third-party applications. All this is due to the restrictions put forward by the company from Cupertino.

At the first stage, the new feature will be available only to owners of laptops based on 12th generation processors released by Acer, HP and Lenovo. These laptops are part of the Intel Evo program. After the release of models on chips of the 13th generation, the list will expand.

Note that there is a similar one on the MacBook, where you can synchronize data with the iPhone. Now the same is expected on Windows.
