This Harry Potter actor doesn’t want to ‘stab’ [J.K. Rowling] in the back” despite his disagreements

Published

on

For several years, Jason Isaacs played Lucius Malfoy, Draco Malfoy’s father. A villain who does not hesitate to swear allegiance to Voldemort and a major character in the franchise. If the actor already has a good career, the role has popularized him with the general public in the film adaptations of Harry Potter. So inevitably, the films are very linked to JK Rowling, the novelist at the origin of this immense universe. But recently, the latter has been noticed for his transphobic outings. Quickly, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) dissociated themselves from their positions. Today, Oscar Isaac talks about it (via CinemaBlend).

But this does not mean that the actor wants to turn his back on the novelist.

Jason Isaacs is more nuanced

Harry Potter celebrated its 20th birthday! The opportunity for the actors to speak. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint spoke in particular about their fear of fame and today, Jason Isaacs speaks on another sensitive subject. That of JK Rowling’s transphobic positions repeatedly denounced by associations and activists.

But if the man does not share his positions, he opts for nuance.

There’s a whole lot of stuff about JK Rowling. You know, I play complicated characters so I’m interested in complicated people. I don’t want to get carried away on questions of transidentities, talk about it, because it’s very risky. She has her opinions, I have mine. And they differ on many points.

Jason Isaacs

Jason Isaacs refuses, on the other hand, to turn his back on the novelist despite his positions which he does not share: ” One thing you should know, and that’s no justification, is that she devotes a big chunk of her fortune to making the world a better place. For thousands of vulnerable children, through its association Lumos. This is a good thing. We Harry Potter actors have worked for her and seen what she does. Despite his controversial remarks, I don’t want to jump at the chance to stab her in the back without talking to her. What I haven’t done yet “.

The actor seems ready to talk about this thorny subject with JK Rowling.

The front panel of the Cooler Master MasterBox TD300 Mesh case is made of embossed polygonal mesh

Cooler Master announced the release of the MasterBox TD300 Mesh computer case. An interesting detail of this mini-ITX or microATX case is the mesh front panel. The grid is not flat, as is usually the case, but curly. The manufacturer calls it polygonal, noting that the proprietary FineMesh technology is used to give the grid the desired shape. The meshes are said to provide high airflow and excellent dust filtration at the same time. Behind the mesh are two 120mm addressable backlit fans. They are connected to a built-in hub with five ARGB ports and four PWM ports.

These fans can be replaced with 140mm ones. If you put the fans not immediately behind the grid, but behind the front wall, you can install three 140mm fans. Additionally, two 120mm or 140mm fans can be installed on the top wall, one 120mm on the back. The top and front walls are suitable for radiators up to 280 mm long. A 120 mm radiator can be mounted on the back wall.

The case with dimensions of 433 x 210 x 420.5 mm has four slots for expansion cards up to 344 mm long. The maximum allowable height of the processor cooling system is 166 mm, the length of the power supply is 140 mm. If you remove the basket for drives and do not put a radiator on the front wall, the power supply can be up to 325 mm long.

The designers have provided the ability to install two 3.5″ or 2.5″ drives and two 2.5″ drives.

The I/O panel has USB-A connectors for two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports and separate headphone and microphone jacks.

The manufacturer does not name the price of the Cooler Master MasterBox TD300 Mesh case. It is known that the case will be offered in black and white versions.

When virtual reality benefits anesthesiologists during surgical procedures

Published

on

The Board of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) held an annual meeting at Euroanaesthsia. During this encounter, several advantages of using 3D printing and new virtual realities have been underlined. Among these interests are improving care, the stress reduction of the anesthetist and the regular operation of work tools.

virtual technology in medicine

In Israel, a team of anesthetists uses the new technology on twenty (20) patients. Among these, a 35 week fetus required a cesarean delivery. At the same time, an 83-year-old woman had to undergo open-heart surgery. The rest of the patients were children suffering from various ailments.

Most of the cases involved children subject to lung surgery. Virtual technology was used to craft personalized plans for patients suffering from large mediastinal mass (MM).

The premises of a new imaging technique?

Dr Ruth Shaylor, lead author of the research, explains that“Using imaging analysis, our anesthesia team was able to print very accurate models of patients’ airways on which to plan and practice their procedures”. Because, children are the most vulnerable, because they are smaller. The advantage of the new virtual reality lies in its ability to provide with sharpness of images from the scan.

With this innovation, we noted making a 3D model. Similarly, a print can be rotated in 3 or 4 hours on a 3D capable printer. In fact, virtual reality in anesthesia was initiated to strengthen the medical science training program. This is precisely the reason that justifies its use in other specialties. It is orthopedic surgery, of the dentistry and some pediatric cardiology.

Benefits in the management of anesthesia

In order to really identify the advantage of the technology on the management of anesthesia, Shaylor’s team retrospectively examined (based on old data) the 20 patients. 15 in total were the subject of 3D printing through the airways. 3 were submitted to the virtual reality of the great cases of MM. LThe images of the airways from the model were quite clear.
