In China, prices have already fallen, and globally, electric vehicles will fall in price to the level of combustion engines by 2025, according to IEA
The International Energy Agency (IEA) claims that about one in five cars sold globally this year will be electric, with prices for small EVs falling to the same level as internal combustion vehicles in North America and Europe. already by 2025.
The agency raised its forecasts for electric vehicle sales in part because of the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act, which supports the green industry and subsidizes consumer purchases of electric vehicles.
China today produces about half of the world’s electrified models, including battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, and accounted for 60% of electric vehicle sales last year, according to the IEA’s annual electric vehicle forecast.
The country is regularly reducing prices for some models of electric vehicles, as a result of which some models are already at the level of cars with internal combustion engines.
Electric vehicle sales worldwide are expected to grow by 35% this year to 14 million units. They will account for 18% of the passenger car market compared to 4% in 2020.
Crossovers and large cars make up nearly two-thirds of electric vehicles in China and Europe and take up the majority of the market in the United States.

We are waiting for the new Model 3 and Model Y: Tesla sharply reduces the prices of its best-selling models

Tesla this year is the most likely to change prices for its models. This time around, the prices of Tesla’s best-selling vehicles have come down, with the biggest drop exceeding $3,000.
Model Y prices were already slightly lowered in the second half of May after being raised earlier that month. Now they have been reduced even further. The Model Y Dual-Motor Long-Range AWD is $55,430, $560 less than before.
The rear-wheel-drive Model 3 received a $3,210 price cut, to $39,530. Tesla indicates on its website that the same model is eligible for up to $3,750 in federal tax credits. The automaker promises to deliver cars during June-July.
According to one version, the automaker just wants to increase its sales and deliveries, so it reduces prices. Strong quarterly results are becoming a hallmark of Tesla.
It’s likely that Tesla is doing its best to liquidate stock in preparation for releasing updated models. Tesla is rumored to be working on an updated version of the Model Y, codenamed Juniper. The car is expected to go on sale in 2024.
There are also rumors about the imminent release of the Model 3 update, codenamed Highland. It can be presented at any time.

Honda Accrod in a new way. Honda Inspire 5m sedan unveiled

In China, the flagship Honda Accord sedan has a sibling called the Inspire, manufactured by Dongfeng Honda. In fact, Inspire – the same Accord, only with a slightly different appearance.
The Inspire has its own grille, bumpers and taillights. The length of the car is 4979 mm: the Inspire is only 1 mm shorter than the Accord. There are slight differences in the interior design: the Inspire has separate ventilation deflectors and a different climate control unit. The choice of transmission modes in Inspire is carried out by buttons, not by a lever.
The power plants have not been declassified, but the inscription e: PHEV on the trunk lid indicates that the Inspire is a plug-in hybrid. Probably, there is the same power plant as the Accord: with a 2.0-liter internal combustion engine and an electric motor with a total power of 206 hp, as well as a traction battery with a capacity of 17.7 kWh. However, it is possible that there will be a purely gasoline version with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 192 hp.
Inspire will go on sale in China in June, and prices will be announced at the same time.

Why did the first Chinese aircraft COMAC C919 pass through the “water gate” and what does the BYD car have to do with it: new details about the historical event have appeared

On May 28, the newest narrow-body medium-haul airliner COMAC C919 made its first flight on flight MU9191 from Shanghai to Beijing, as we have already reported. Now, BYD has made an additional announcement.
Sometimes passengers of airliners can observe an unusual picture when the plane is doused with water from fire hoses. This is an international tradition, which is treated very reverently. Aircraft are poured over in different cases, for example, if a new airport was built and put into operation in a settlement, then the first aircraft is passed through the “water gate”. The same applies to aircraft that have flown for the first time on a new route or simply models that have made their first flight.
Netizens noticed that a red BYD Tang was standing next to the fire truck. From another angle, a yellow BYD Tang was visible. The manufacturer confirmed that BYD was honored to take part in the historic event, and its vehicles helped serve the first flight of COMAC C919.
Technology shows the strength of our country. BYD Tang welcomes C919! Congratulations on the successful first commercial flight of the C919 and respect for the creators of the aircraft and Chinese technology. Respect to those who work hard to open the way for our country.
