IDC analysts believe the services market will return to growth this year

Global revenue from IT services and business services in 2020 decreased by 1.16%. Moreover, taking into account the change in the exchange rate, the decline was 1.53%. In absolute terms, the market did not exceed $ 1 trillion. Such data is contained in a report prepared by specialists of the analytical company IDC.

Analysts expect the specified market to recover as early as 2021. According to the current forecast, growth in 2021 will be around 4%. It will be approximately the same in 2022. This is a marked improvement over the forecast published in September 2020, when analysts expected 2% growth in 2021 and 3.2% in 2022. The forecast upgrade is based on higher-than-expected 2020 numbers, especially in the second half of the year.

IDC also took into account the recently published economic forecasts, which indicate a faster and more sustainable recovery. The economic recovery in developed markets is expected to lead to an increase in, among other things, spending on services.

Finally, experts note that the crisis has pushed organizations and consumers to accelerate digital transformation. In the new forecast, analysts proceed from the fact that the scale and timing of this transition will exceed previously assumed.

The days of Ethereum mining are numbered Vitalik Butering told

The transition of Ethereum to the Proof-of-Stake algorithm, instead of the current Proof-of-Work supported by miners, has been talked about for a long time, but so far this has not happened. However, Proof-of-Stake is on the way. This was stated by Vitalik Buterin himself.

The days of Ethereum mining are numbered. Vitalik Butering told when the network will switch to the Proof-of-Stake algorithm

During the Shanghai summit, Buterin said that the transition of the Ethereum network to the Proof-of-Stake algorithm will take place in August. Previously, it was planned for the second quarter of this year (and before that it was postponed many times), but now a new date has been announced. In case of unforeseen circumstances, the update will be postponed for a month or two, but it is definitely not in the interests of the network to delay further implementation of Proof-of-Stake.

Thus, there is not much time left for cryptocurrency miners to mine ETH. There is an opinion that after the transition to the Proof-of-Stake algorithm, the cost of Ethereum may fall slightly, but then it will definitely increase. In the meantime, for 1 ETH they give less than $2,000.

I have an Android Galaxy Z Fold3 Bill Gates reveals

The former head of Microsoft does not use the company’s smartphones. Answering a question about his mobile device on the Reddit forum, Bill Gates told what kind of smartphone he uses.

I have an Android Galaxy Z Fold3 Bill Gates reveals

I have an Android Galaxy Z Fold3. I try different ones. With this screen, I can get by with a great laptop and phone and don’t need anything else.

Third-party sources, of course, emphasize that Gates could use the Microsoft Surface Duo 2, but, like the first generation, this device failed in sales and is inferior to Samsung’s foldable flagship on literally all fronts.

As for other smartphones or the laptop he chose, Gates, unfortunately, did not disclose the details.

Smart watches Google Pixel Watch can surprise you with the

Google announced the smart watch ten days ago, but kept silent about the technical characteristics of the novelty. Therefore, details about the device have to be collected bit by bit. A previous leak said the watch would get Samsung’s rather old Exynos 9110 SoC, but the new data is encouraging: the Pixel Watch may have a fresher SoC.

Smart watches Google Pixel Watch can surprise you with the amount of memory: there will be more flash memory than in some smartphones

This scheme is not new, it has already been tested in a number of other wearable devices: a low-power SoC ensures that the device works for a long time with basic capabilities, and when all functions are supposed to be used to the maximum, a more powerful (and obviously more modern) hardware system is involved.

But even this is not interesting: Pixel Watch is credited with a lot of flash memory – as much as 32 GB. Such a volume for applications is clearly redundant, so it is suggested that Google will focus on the ability to download and store a large amount of music right on the watch. Which is good for sports. However, it will be possible to store podcasts right in the watch, for example. The amount of RAM will be “slightly more than the Galaxy Watch 4”. Samsung smartwatches have 1.5 GB of RAM, so it’s logical to assume 2 GB of RAM in Pixel Watch.

Finally, the Pixel Watch is said to be sensor-similar to the Fitbit Charge 5. This means that Google’s new product will provide the same vitals tracking capabilities. At a minimum, you can count on the monitoring of heart rate and SpO2, as a maximum – on the possibility of recording an ECG.

This concludes the new batch of details about the Google Pixel Watch. Recall that the novelty will go on sale in the fall.
