IC Insights analysts named the segment of the chip market in which the largest growth is expected this year

IC Insights analytics company has prepared a forecast for the current year, which shows the expected growth rates for different segments of the microcircuit market. The list includes 33 categories of microcircuits defined by World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS).
In the five fastest growing segments, growth is expected to exceed the industry average, which is projected at 12%.
Thus, sales of microcontrollers for embedded systems will grow by 15%, which corresponds to the fifth place in the ranking. Two segments for automotive electronics – dedicated logic and analog circuits – are forecast to grow by 16%. Analysts ranked NAND flash in second place. They believe that its sales will increase by 17%. And the leader among the segments in terms of sales growth compared to 2020 is DRAM memory. This segment is expected to grow by 18%.
