A number of early buyers of the latest iPad Air complain about poor build quality and more.
A thread has been created on Reddit where tablet owners complain that their devices creak and generally feel lower quality than past models.
I ordered and received two blue iPad Air 2022 today and I am a bit shocked. The aluminum back is much thinner than on the iPad 4, which I also have. The battery can almost be felt through the plate when holding the device. Both new iPads have the same feel and make creaking sounds when you hold them in your hands. This didn’t happen on the iPad Air 4.
At first, users had the assumption that the problem only affects the iPad Air in blue, but then there were similar complaints from owners of tablets in other colors. In general, complaints are about the same: squeaks and a back cover that is too thin to the touch.
The update forces Microsoft Edge into tablet mode, even on desktop PCs running Windows 11 and 10. But there is a way out
The latest update released by Microsoft has led to a strange crash in the proprietary Microsoft Edge browser on PCs running Windows 11 and Windows 10 operating systems. The problem was brought to the attention of the WindowsLatest thematic resource.
As the source notes, after the update, the browser interface automatically switched to “touch” or “tablet” mode, which is characterized by increased buttons and distances between interface elements, including tabs. Typically this interface is used to make the browser more touch-friendly. The problem is that this mode appears on regular computers with Windows 10 and Windows 11 without a touch screen, including desktop ones.
Apparently, Microsoft mistakenly enabled tablet support mode. As a result of the failure, desktop PCs are identified as tablets and touch mode is activated.
Fortunately, WindowsLatest found a very simple way out of the situation. The user only needs to go to the browser settings, go to the “Appearance” section and manually disable “touch mode”.
We’ve been waiting for this for more than ten years: a separate WhatsApp application for iPad has appeared, but not for everyone yet
The team of the popular WhatsApp messenger decided to take a historic step – they launched a beta version of the application for Apple tablets. WhatsApp has not had a separate native app for iPad for many years, forcing people to use the web version of the messenger.
The application is not available to all WhatsApp users yet. As noted by the thematic resource WABetaInfo, a test version of the messenger numbered 126.96.36.199, compatible with iPad, has become available for participants in beta testing of WhatsApp for iOS.
To take part in the test, you must sign up for the WhatsApp beta program and download the apps to your iPhone and iPad. Next, you need to set up WhatsApp on your iPad by going to the “Paired Devices” section on your phone.
WABetaInfo notes that WhatsApp for iPad does allow you to use the app independently of your phone. At the same time, the iPad application synchronizes sent and received messages with other user devices. Unfortunately, it appears that some features, such as the real-time location feature and status updates, are not working properly right now.
