Huge 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander unveiled
The announcement of a huge crossover Toyota Grand Highlander 2024 model year. Based on the teasers, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander was expected to be basically a longer version of the regular Highlander. However, Toyota gave the Grand Highlander a new design and a new Hybrid Max powertrain as an option. Of course, the novelty is really larger than the usual crossover.
The 5105mm long Toyota Grand Highlander 2024 differs in body shape from the regular Highlander, the grille design also resembles the 4Runner more than other Toyota SUVs. The wide rear pillars hide the additional 165 crossover lengths well. It is also about 50mm taller and wider than the regular Highlander.
The interior of the Grand Highlander features a new instrument panel. It bears some resemblance to the regular model, but stands out for its screen layout. Grand Highlander can carry 0.58m3 with the seats raised, which is 0.11 m3 more than the regular Highlander. When all seats are down, the Grand Highlander’s payload increases to 2.76m.3 (+0.37 m3). Buyers can choose between a triple second-row seat or captain’s chairs.
The Grand Highlander’s most powerful drivetrain, which further differentiates it from the conventional one, is the Hybrid Max. It combines a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a pair of electric motors and a six-speed automatic. In this bundle, the power plant produces 362 horsepower, almost the same as the version in the Lexus RX 500h. Toyota doesn’t release torque or fuel consumption figures, but the transmission will allow the Grand Highlander to tow a 2.2 tonne trailer.
The standard version will get engines from the regular Highlander: a base 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an optional naturally aspirated 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine. Both are available with front or all wheel drive.
Three trim levels will be available for the Grand Highlander: XLE, Limited and Platinum. Standard features on all models are alloy wheels, heated mirrors, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with the latest Toyota system, wireless phone charging, seven USB-C ports, 13 cup holders, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, adaptive cruise. -control, automatic braking when pedestrians are detected, lane keeping assist and automatic high beams. Older versions will get bigger wheels, LED lighting, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, parking sensors and stop-and-go function for adaptive cruise control.
The Grand Highlander will go on sale this year. Prices will be announced this summer.

Google has launched a waiting list for access to the Bard chatbot, but so far only in two countries

Google has announced that it is opening up access to its AI-powered chatbot Bard. For now, it will be a limited edition that will be available in the UK and US. Residents of these countries can access the site bard.google.com and add yourself to the waiting list.
The neural network is based on the LaMDA language model, and early tests showed that the system needs to be improved. However, the company is still ready to launch full access to the chatbot.
According to the corporation, Bard works in much the same way as other chatbots. You can formulate requests to it yourself or use hints. However, there are also differences. While the Microsoft Bing chatbot supports citations, Bard doesn’t have source citations to check the accuracy of the answer. Instead, you can see other chatbot response options.
For now, Bard looks like something separate from the Google search engine, but this may change in the future.

“This is probably the most beautiful mobile phone in history.” The creators praise the design of Meizu 20 Pro, which is similar to the Samsung Galaxy S23 and iPhone 14 Pro

Meizu has published the official teaser with the technical parameters of its new flagship Meizu 20 Pro. Right at the very beginning of the indiscreet document, it says: “maybe this is the most beautiful mobile phone in history” …
Everything would be fine, but at the moment the device looks like a collection of quotes: the main camera is designed in the spirit of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and the flat side frame is exactly like the current iPhone. What about the front panel? It looks like almost any other smartphone with a flat screen and an embedded camera.
Among the advantages of the Meizu 20 Pro, the creators name an ideal 50/50 weight distribution (that is, the mass is distributed evenly throughout the phone), a thin screen frame (width is 1.57 mm), a 5000 mAh battery with support for 80 W wired charging and 50W wireless. The thickness of the smartphone is also indicated – it is 7.8 mm.
The Meizu 20 Pro was previously listed on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 single-chip system. There are also examples of photos taken by the main camera of the phone. The official premiere of the Meizu 20 flagships is scheduled for March 30.

Startups use GPT-4 to save on live programmers

Network publications reported that a number of startups began to use the GPT-4 language model from OpenAI to save on developers. AI is said to be capable of generating code.
For example, Landscape startup founder Joe Perkins said on Twitter that he wrote the code for five microservices using a neural network, it took him only 3 hours, and the code turned out to be at a good level. If he wrote everything by hand, he would have to spend several weeks and 5 thousand pounds sterling.
According to Vice, who spoke with Perkins, he studied computer science at school, but his knowledge was only enough to understand the code, and not to write it. So GPT-4 was the right solution. And although Perkins continues to collaborate with developers, the language model simplifies development, speeds it up, and saves money.
But the executive director of online education at the Georgia Institute of Technology David Joyner (David Joyner) said that language models are unlikely to replace programmers. They are more likely to become assistants and take on some of the work.
Thus, GPT-4 is sure to become a sought-after tool in the market soon, and developers will have to learn how to use it in order to be in demand.
