Huawei wants to sell 300,000 electric cars this year
Faced with the current health context, people’s growing enthusiasm for smart cars, and especially the American embargo, Huawei changes tactics to try to regain its former glory. In fact, the brand wants to bet big on its electric hybrid SUV, hoping to sell up to… 300,000 models in 2022 alone.
Huawei has long been known for its smartphones. This time, it wants to highlight its car manufacturing partners to make them leaders in the smart car market. If some still doubt the feasibility of this project, Richard Yu, the CEO of the firm, does not share the same opinion. He asserted with great insight that it is possible for the Chinese giant to achieve such a goal.

When asked for his opinion on the subject recently, he advanced more than realistic figures.
With 1,000 stores across China, Huawei wants to go very far
Yu said if each of the 1,000 Huawei stores scattered across China could sell 30 electric SUVs per month, the annual target of 300,000 cars sold could be reached in just 10 months. This is how the brand plans to boost the sale of the AITO M5, the result of a collaboration with Chinese car manufacturer Seres.
If these predictions come true, Seres, a manufacturer that Huawei considers full of potential, could therefore achieve up to 100 billion yuan, or approximately 13.8 billion euros, in turnover this year. Recall that Huawei has already been trying to get into the automotive industry for several years. After having expanded its activity in the field of equipment for connected cars, the company has collaborated with other Chinese manufacturers in several areas such as electric propulsion and driving aids.
Huawei really has something to do with it
In fact, the AITO M5 electric hybrid crossover has a great range, up to 1240 kilometers. Although Huawei is not involved in the assembly of the vehicle, it has contributed immensely to the implementation of the project. The electric SUV, for example, incorporates the HarmonyOS system that the company has developed. In addition, it is she who is responsible for the exterior design and interior comfort of the car. Moreover, part of the marketing and engineering work will be assigned to him.
If Huawei has recently encountered difficulties in selling its smartphones, let’s wait to see how it could get away with the sale of electric cars. Soon, we therefore expect to see phones, connected watches… and why not electric SUVs in Huawei stores?

In China, they began to take orders for another low-cost electric car Letin Mengo. The novelty is interesting because at the price of the unconditional local hit Wuling Hongguang MINIEV (or the same Lingbox Uni), it is noticeably larger.
If Hongguang MINIEV is a three-door model, then Letin Mengo has four doors, and four people can fit inside in addition to the driver. The car is equipped with only one 48 hp electric motor. (peak torque – 125 Nm), but there are three options for the capacity of the traction battery: 11.52, 17.28 and 29.44 kWh. Accordingly, the power reserve is 130, 185 and 300 km.

27 hp, top speed of 100 km/h, range of 140 km and nice design for $5800. Another ultra-cheap electric car appeared in China

The segment of three-meter three-door electric vehicles in China is growing by leaps and bounds. Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, Cherry QQ Ice Cream, Fengguang MINIeV and Changan LUMIN are already on the market, and now Lingbox Uni is also out. More precisely, it has not yet been released, but is already available for order: you can reserve a car for only $ 75. And we are not talking about blind sales: both characteristics and prices are known.
Lingbox Uni (created by a company called Jemmell New Energy) is priced at $5,800 in the base version. In the configuration of such a car – a lithium-iron-phosphate traction battery with a capacity of 11.52 kWh, providing a range of 140 km. The top version of the electric car uses a battery with a capacity of 15.97 kWh, on a full charge of which Lingbox Uni is able to travel 201 km.
The car is driven by a single engine with a capacity of 27 hp, but the torque is decent – 86 Nm, so there should be no problems with starts from a traffic light. The maximum speed is 100 km/h.
The dimensions of the car are 2930 x 1517 x 1620 mm, the length of the wheelbase is 1940 mm. The interior, like the exterior, looks pretty, except that the mechanical hand brake is knocked out of the general range.
The car is cheap, but not spartan: there is a tire pressure monitoring system, seat belt warning, Isofix mounts, power windows, an audio system with Bluetooth (although there is only one speaker), a USB port for charging a smartphone, a 12 V socket, rear parking sensors , rear view camera, uphill system, air conditioning.
