Huawei prepares the key to the US sanctions lock. Chinese company files patent for ultra-hard ultraviolet photolithograph

US sanctions have cut off Huawei from modern single-chip systems, and in general, the inability to manufacture SoCs and CPUs according to advanced technological standards is a problem for Chinese (non-Taiwanese) companies. But in the foreseeable future, this problem can be solved: Huawei has filed a patent for ultra-hard ultraviolet (EUV) photolithography technology. And while a patent doesn’t mean a ready-made lithograph will soon appear, Huawei has enough resources (both financial and intellectual) to create a ready-made solution.

The patent filed by Huawei with the State Intellectual Property Office in mid-November is numbered 202110524685X. He describes the EUV lithograph itself and its key components, including a 13.5 nm light source, a set of reflective mirrors, and “control technologies.”

Deep ultraviolet photolithography machines have been developed by various companies, but only ASML from the Netherlands has succeeded. Although it took more than 10 years of development and large financial injections from the partners to whom ASML supplies such machines – Intel, Samsung and TSMC. And, for example, the Chinese SMIC could not get the device already paid for: US requirements banned ASML from selling ultra-hard ultraviolet photolithography systems to China. This is why China so badly needs its own device, and Huawei has already taken a big step towards its creation.

Otherwise, there are no changes in the hardware platform: the laptop is endowed with 16 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Moreover, there are two slots for SSD in the laptop.

Acer Legendary Edge is made in the body of magnesium alloy and aluminum, the thickness of the device is 12.95 mm, weight – 1.17 kg. Interestingly, the same mass is attributed to the base Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra – also 16-inch and also with an OLED screen, but with much more powerful components.

For comparison, the Exynos 850 scores about 145,000 points in AnTuTu 9, while the Helio G80 scores 230,000 points. True, the same Exynos 1330 is gaining more than 410,000 points, so the difference between the A14 4G and 5G versions in performance is enormous.

The screen of the Galaxy A14 4G will retain the size of 6.6 inches, Full HD + resolution, but there will be no increased frame rate, like the A14 5G. The battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, the main 50-megapixel camera, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of flash memory will also remain, but charging will be only 10-watt. But the smartphone will receive stereo speakers.

The novelty will be released at the end of March. In Eastern Europe, they will ask for 200 euros for it.
