New materials have appeared on the Web with a demonstration of the design of the promising flagship Huawei – P50 Pro. This time, not only static images have been published, but also a video.
While previous leaks indicated the presence of a camera with four sensors in the P50 Pro, in the new materials the camera has only three sensors. Judging by Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra, if Huawei decides to use an inch sensor (and it is he who appears in the video frames), as well as other sensors of a rather large format, then there simply will be no room for the fourth sensor, because inside the case you need to place and other components. Also, in the video, you can clearly see the screen curved onto the sides with a central front camera – absolutely all sources agree that such a solution will be used in smartphones of the P50 line.
While everything is more or less clear about the design of the P50 Pro, nothing is plainly said about the timing of its release. At first, it was assumed that the smartphone will be presented in March or April, but then there were rumors about the postponement of the premiere to May or even June due to unstable supplies of components for assembling devices for the entire P50 line. Probably, at best, the Huawei P50 will debut in early to mid-May, at worst in summer.

The Chinese company BOE recently decided to outsmart Apple in order to continue to make money on the supply of screens for the iPhone. However, the Cupertino giant found out about the manipulation of the partner and suspended the acceptance of supplies from BOE. It seems that Samsung can make good money on this whole situation.
Samsung, which is already the main screen supplier for the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, may reportedly start making displays for the iPhone 14 and 14 Max as well. That is, she will actually get orders for BOE.
At the moment, Apple has still not given the go-ahead to start producing screens for the new iPhones at the Chinese manufacturer’s facilities, and it is believed that BOE will eventually lose all or most of the orders.
If the situation with BOE is really resolved not in favor of the company, then Apple will simply have no choice but to turn to Samsung, because no one else will be able to produce such a huge number of screens without prior preparation, which, moreover, would suit the demanding Apple in quality .

Oppo today officially introduced the Reno8 Pro smartphone in China, and it became the first model in the world based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 single-chip system. Tests of this SoC will appear a little later, but according to preliminary data, it will be inferior in performance to MediaTek Dimensity 8000 and Dimensity 8100.
However, there is no doubt that Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will be popular with smartphone manufacturers, and that Reno8 Pro is just the first sign. The smartphone also received LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.1 flash memory and proprietary NPU MariSilicon X like the flagships – it allows you to improve the quality of photos and videos.
The Oppo Reno8 Pro features a 6.62-inch Samsung E4 OLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a 120Hz frame rate and a peak brightness of 1300 cd/m2. The fingerprint scanner is under the screen.
Embedded front camera – with a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 sensor, the main camera uses sensors with a resolution of 50 MP (Sony IMX766, with OIS), 8 MP (OmniVision OV08D10) and 2 MP. The battery capacity was 4500 mAh, fast wired charging with 80 W is supported. There is also an NFC adapter, a loudspeaker – only one.
The Oppo Reno8 Pro is 7.57 mm thick and weighs 188 grams. The OS is Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1.1 interface. The creators guarantee that the smartphone will work for three years without loss of performance. Prices are as follows: 8/128 GB – $450, 8/256 GB – $480, 12/256 GB – $525.
