Huawei yesterday released its 2020 report, reporting that revenues increased 3.8% to $ 136.7 billion and net income rose 3.2% to $ 9.9 billion. This is despite US sanctions and the coronavirus pandemic.

Huawei Vice Chairman Hu Houkun said at a press conference that Huawei Mobile Services has grown into a huge and popular mobile app ecosystem in 2020, ranking third in the world.

According to official statistics, by the end of 2020, Huawei Mobile Services had 2.3 million registered developers worldwide, of which about 2 million are based in China. At the same time, the number of developers and applications themselves is constantly growing.

In addition, he also stated that the company’s proprietary operating system, HarmonyOS, has successfully attracted more than 20 hardware vendors and 280 application partners to collaborate.

He confirmed that the Chinese tech giant plans to introduce HarmonyOS-powered smartphones in the coming days. From April, the company will gradually begin updating Hongmeng OS for previously released mobile devices.

Microsoft Store General Manager Giorgio Sardo said:

To make it easier for customers to migrate to new PCs quickly and seamlessly, we’ll soon be testing a new feature in the Windows Insider channel that will help customers automatically restore their previously installed apps from the Microsoft Store to a new Windows device.

Restoring applications will be especially useful for users who frequently change computers, or for developers who regularly use virtual machines and multiple devices. Previously, Windows users had to rely on third-party package managers to perform these kinds of tasks.
