Huawei Mate 50 will not be released, the only flagship of the company this year will be Huawei P50

According to Chinese sources, Huawei will not launch the flagship Mate series mobile phone this year, which was supposed to be dubbed the Huawei Mate 50.

If the rumors are true, then it will be the first time that Huawei has not released a flagship of the Mate series since 2013. So far, Huawei has not officially responded to the rumors.

Every year, the company releases flagship Huawei Mate models in the fall, they receive the latest single-chip systems from the Kirin family and top-end cameras. However, this year the company was unable to release the flagship Huawei P50 in the spring, as is usually the case with smartphones of the Huawei P series. Now the Huawei P50 is expected to be released until September, and there is no point in releasing the Huawei Mate 50 almost immediately after the Huawei P50.

But this is not the main reason, which is a banal lack of components. Against the backdrop of a global semiconductor shortage that has hit all industries, Huawei is suffering from US sanctions that prevent it from buying US components and technologies.

It is rumored that Huawei’s mobile phone division has chosen to support existing users as its primary strategy. The company provides after-sales services such as replacing the battery, back cover and even components such as screen, motherboard, and camera at a discounted price. Also, Huawei plans to transfer as many models as possible to the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system.

As you can see, the design will still be very unusual with many different elements and accents, but this is normal for a gaming smartphone. The camera module will change somewhat, although in general Asus is clearly not trying to make the new model radically different from the previous one.

The renders also show a new version of the proprietary AeroActive Cooler 6, which can also act as a stand, as well as a Devilcase Guardian Lite Plus case.

Should HTC have gone back to making smartphones HTC Desire

HTC has been intriguing over the past few weeks with a flagship smartphone with a focus on virtual and augmented reality technologies, but in fact it turned out to be the $405 HTC Desire 22 Pro, built on the Snapdragon 695. It’s certainly not a flagship, but the price is considerable.

HTC Desire 22 Pro received a screen with a diagonal of 6.6 inches, Full HD + resolution and a frame rate of 120 Hz, as well as a triple main camera with sensors with a resolution of 64, 13 and 5 MP. Judging by the picture, there is no periscope module, which means that the “optical zoom” will be achieved due to the difference in focal lengths of different lenses.

In the configuration of the device, there is also protection in accordance with the degree of IP67 (and this is really not often found in mid-range models), a 4520 mAh battery (both wireless and reverse wireless charging are supported), pre-installed Android 12. The configuration is one – with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory.
