Huawei is preparing a smart display for cars based on Hongmeng OS

A reliable Chinese blogger has hinted that Huawei is about to launch a car smart screen with Hongmeng OS. The device will become part of the developed ecosystem.

Back in September, Huawei Electric Technology Co. was established. Ltd. with a registered capital of 250 million RMB, where Huawei owns 100% of the shares. The company is engaged in engineering research and the production and sale of smart car equipment.

At the same time, as part of the Huawei Developer Conference 2020, the company presented a new cloud solution HMS for Car. It involves interconnection with smartphones, smartwatches, speakers and other gadgets of the brand’s ecosystem. Huawei is testing its developments with Volvo and China’s Hongqi.

In June 2019, information appeared that Huawei, together with Audi and Toyota, was developing a self-driving car. It was promised to be presented to the public in 2021–2022.

Meanwhile, the first smartphones with Hongmeng OS are expected in early 2021. It is already known which smartphones on which chips will be the first to receive their own OS from Huawei. The announcement of the latest flagship Huawei on its own Kirin 1000 chip will take place on October 22.
