Huawei is preparing a 3nm chipset for its smartphones
Despite the tightening of US sanctions, the Chinese company Huawei does not give up and continues to work on new projects. And these are not only new mobile devices and laptops, but also proprietary chipsets for smartphones from the Kirin series.
Recently, insiders said that due to US sanctions, Huawei will liquidate the Kirin series of chips and the Mate 40 will become the last flagship smartphone of the Chinese brand based on a proprietary processor. But it seems that they are mistaken, because today there is information on the Web that Huawei is developing a new single-chip platform. It will be called the Kirin 9010 and will replace the Kirin 9000 chip announced last fall. And if the Kirin 9000 is made using a 5-nanometer technological process, then the Kirin 9010 will be built on 3-nanometer standards. Who will be engaged in the production of the new chip and how many cores and with what clock frequency will be included in it, insiders have not yet reported.
Note that there is not a single mobile processor manufactured using a 3-nanometer process technology in the market so far. And it is possible that the Kirin 9010 will be the first 3nm chipset, which will allow Huawei to overtake its competitors in the face of Apple, Samsung and Qualcomm again.
