Huawei has decided to lead the global smartphone market again

Bruce Lee, President of Huawei’s flagship consumer product line, spoke about the current situation at the company in a recent interview.
Huawei allows employees to apply for retirement at the age of 45, but it personally has no intention of doing so. According to him, the US sanctions hit Huawei hard, but the company is determined to lead the global smartphone market again.
In May 2019, Huawei was blocked by the US Department of Commerce, and the company was banned from buying American-made components. Over the past couple of years, the US authorities have just introduced new sanctions, and Huawei has managed to order a certain number of components that the company can count on in the coming months.
Guo Ping, another Huawei executive, said the US sanctions are painful only in the short term, but they will make the company stronger in the long term.
Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said Huawei continues to invest very heavily in research and development.
