HP has released the new Specter x360 14 convertible laptop that offers a number of improvements over its 13-inch predecessor.
The novelty is equipped with a 13.5-inch display with a resolution of 3000 × 2000 pixels. Thanks to the 3: 2 ratio, it was possible to increase the usable space in the vertical projection by 20% compared to the 16: 9 display of its predecessor. An OLED panel can be offered as an option. The device contains one of the new 11th generation Intel processors (Tiger Lake) – up to a 4-core model Core i7-1165G7 with integrated Intel Xe graphics and a TDP of 28W. According to the manufacturer, the Specter x360 14 is about 34% faster than last year’s 13-inch version.
HP also says the new laptop is “the smartest PC ever built.” The Specter x360 14 can detect when it’s in your bag and use Intel Dynamic Tuning technology to avoid draining or overheating your battery. AI Noise Removal is designed to eliminate background noise when using communication applications such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, while Auto Color can automatically switch the screen color space between DCI-P3, Adobe RGB and sRGB for the most accurate color reproduction.
The novelty is also distinguished by the presence of a Thunderbolt 4 port, which is located in the beveled corner of the case. The device has a physical button to block the webcam. The supplied battery provides up to 17 hours of battery life, but the version with the Core i7-1165G7 processor and OLED display has a more modest battery life – only 10 hours. The HP Specter x360 14 laptop will go on sale starting at $ 1199.
The 13-inch version of the Specter x360 has also undergone an upgrade. It is now offered with Intel Tiger Lake processors. At the same time, the battery life is up to 16.5 hours, which is less than was available for last year’s model. This can be explained by the fact that Intel requires manufacturers to more accurately indicate the indicators of autonomy. An updated 13-inch version of the Specter x360 will also go on sale for $ 1199. Users will also be available a modification with a 4K OLED display and a 10-hour battery life. In addition, a modification with support for 5G communication will appear next year.
