How popular are ray tracing and DLSS among gamers. Nvidia gave very clear statistics
Nvidia decided to prove that ray tracing in games really matters. And not for Nvidia itself or for the market as a whole, but directly for gamers.
The company provided interesting statistics that show how many gamers turn on ray tracing effects in games.
For example, users of the latest RTX 40 adapters use this feature very often. 83% of gamers with these graphics cards turn on ray tracing in games, if available. Which is logical given the performance of the RTX 40 cards already on the market. But the fact that 79% of them include DLSS at the same time looks more interesting.
Among gamers with RTX 30 cards, the corresponding figures are 56% and 71%. And if we talk about the RTX 20 line, then we are talking about 43% and 68%. That is, it turns out that the newer the generation, the more gamers activate ray tracing, but at the same time more activate DLSS, although the cards become more productive.
Also very clear is the comparison with 2018, when tracing and DLSS included only 37% and 26% of gamers with RTX 20, respectively.

Nvidia makes it possible to endow NPCs in games with artificial intelligence. ACE for Games solution set introduced

Nvidia introduced a product called Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE) for Games, which is needed, among other things, in order to create non-player characters (NPCs) based on artificial intelligence in video games.
ACE is a suite of real-time AI solutions for end-to-end development and deployment of interactive avatars and digital people applications. In this case, we are talking about the creation of characters in games.
Developers of middleware, tools, and games can use ACE for Games to create and deploy custom AI speech, conversation, and animation models in their software and games, according to the press release.
Generative AI has the potential to revolutionize how players interact with playable characters and greatly enhance game immersion. Based on our expertise in AI and years of experience working with game developers, Nvidia is leading the way for Generative AI in games
At the same time, ACE for Games is offered to developers not only in the form of a common set of tools, but also in the form of several ready-made basic models:
- Nvidia NeMo – for building, customizing and deploying language models using proprietary data. Large language models can be customized with character knowledge and backstories and protected from counterproductive or insecure conversations with NeMo Guardrails
- Nvidia Riva – for automatic speech recognition and text-to-speech, allowing for live speech.
- Nvidia Omniverse Audio2Face – for instantly creating expressive face animation of a game character for any speech track
The company notes that its technology will soon appear in several games, including STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, where the developers use Audio2Face.

Sony’s first TWS headphones specifically for PlayStation. The company showed a yet unnamed novelty

The other day, Sony not only introduced the Project Q portable console, but also showed the first fully wireless headphones (True Wireless Stereo; TWS) created specifically for the PlayStation.
There are already high-quality images of this product on the Web, while the company did not give a date for their launch on sale, or even a name. However, you can recall that earlier on the Web there were rumors about Project Nomad headphones created just for the PlayStation, so this is probably them.
Then it was reported that Project Nomad will receive some kind of innovative technology for wireless data transmission without loss and low latency. At the same time, headphones can also be connected to a smartphone or PC via Bluetooth.
There are no other technical details yet.

AMD, this is just some kind of gift for budget gamers. Radeon RX 7600 unveiled for $270, 30% faster than RX 6600

AMD just announced the Radeon RX 7600 graphics card, which is indeed priced at just $270, as we reported yesterday. This is quite unexpected, since earlier rumors attributed to the card a price of 300-330 dollars.
The Radeon RX 7600, as expected, received a Navi 33 GPU with 2048 stream processors, as well as 8 GB of memory at 18 GHz and a 128-bit memory bus. The amount of cache memory Infinity Cache is 32 MB. You can also note the GPU frequency of 2250-2625 MHz and a TDP of 165 watts.
To make the announcement even more interesting, AMD has published the results of comparing the RX 7600 and RX 6600. Recall that the tests in 3DMark showed an average increase of 34%.
As you can see, the increase is really huge. The average rate in games is 29%, while in some projects the increase exceeds 40-50%! And at the same time, the price relative to the RX 6600 has decreased by almost 20%. In comparison, the RTX 4060 Ti is only 12% faster than the RTX 3060 Ti on average at the same price.
RX 7600 reviews coming later today. But if you look at the reviews of the RX 6600, you can see that a 30% increase gives the performance of the RTX 3060 Ti, and there it is not far from the RX 6700 XT. So the $270 RX 7600 will likely fall behind the $400 RTX 4060 Ti.
It is also worth noting that the RX 7600 appeared after the RX 7900, and AMD has not yet announced other cards of the new line for some reason. Apparently, this is the first such precedent, and so far its reasons are completely incomprehensible.
