How one 32-core AMD processor beat two 28-core Intel CPUs. Albeit with reservations

In addition to the Ryzen 5000 hybrid processors for the mobile and desktop segments, AMD is also preparing Epyc server processors on the same new Zen 3 architecture.
They will be released during the first half of the year, but now we can see the performance of the 32-core Epyc 7543 model. This CPU supports SMT and operates at 2.8-3.7 GHz. In the Geekbench 4 test, the novelty is gaining 6065 points in single-threaded mode and 111,379 points in multi-threaded.
For comparison, two 28-core Xeon Platinum 8280 processors gain 5048 and 117,171 points, respectively, that is, in the first case, a couple of Intel are 20% behind, and in the second, they have an advantage of 5%. And this is with a much larger number of cores. There are no prices for new AMD products yet, but one Epyc 7543 should obviously be cheaper than even one Xeon Platinum 8280, because the latter costs about $ 10,000, and the current 32-core Epyc CPUs are estimated at about $ 2500-2700.
True, this year Intel should finally release completely new server CPUs Ice Lake-SP, so it is not very correct to compare with the Cascade Lake generation, but Intel still has nothing else.
In any case, the new Epyc CPUs can be expected to deliver about the same performance gain as the desktop Ryzen 5000 over their predecessors.
