How can Microsoft help in space exploration? The company will help NASA communicate more effectively with its spacecraft
Microsoft can help NASA explore space more effectively. To be more precise, it is more efficient to interact with spacecraft in space.
NASA currently uses the Deep Space Network (DSN) for this purpose. These are complexes of radio antennas located in the USA, Spain and Australia. The network allows the agency to constantly stay in touch with their devices.
NASA notes that planning for the use of this system alone is associated with many limitations. In particular, not every antenna in the network is equally capable of communicating with spacecraft located at the edge of the solar system. And missions such as the James Webb Telescope or the Perseverance rover create an increased load on the system due to the large amount of high-precision data that they need to transmit back to Earth.
As a result, NASA must dedicate significant computing resources to prioritize and plan for the hundreds of communication requests that scientists submit each week.
This is where Microsoft thought it could help. The company applied some of what it learned while optimizing quantum algorithms to solve NASA’s problem of scheduling the use of DSNs using classical computers, the source says. At the beginning of the project, it took the company two hours to schedule the DSN. Using their Azure network, Microsoft created the schedule in 16 minutes. Another “special solution”, details of which are not available, made it possible to do this in two minutes.
Microsoft says being able to schedule in minutes rather than hours will allow NASA to be more flexible. Microsoft says it needs to do more work before the system gets all the features it needs, but it could one day help a team preparing to launch more complex missions that include travel to the moon and beyond the solar system.

This is the first Chinese supercar. There were photos of Aion Hyper SSR at the assembly plant

Live photos of the Aion Hyper SSR in assembly have surfaced. Aion Hyper SSR is the first mass-produced Chinese supercar.
Judging by the images, the new car will be available in several colors, including orange, white, silver, blue, green. Deliveries of the Aion Hyper SSR will begin in October 2023, according to the automaker.
The Aion Hyper SSR is currently available for pre-sale in China and costs $187,000 for the base version, while the Ultimate track version costs $244,600.
It is not from scratch that it is called “China’s first supercar.” According to the automaker, “Hyper SSR is designed, developed and manufactured in-house. It’s 100% Chinese supercar.”
GAC Aion announced the establishment of a research laboratory with the China Aerospace Agency to carry out research and development in the field of aerodynamic structures, AI controls, new batteries, engines, materials, satellite remote sensing technologies and high-precision positioning.
The announcement took place in September last year.

Huawei Mate X3 will become more like Samsung flagships. This will be the company’s first foldable smartphone with an ultra-thin protective glass.

Foldable flagship smartphone Huawei Mate X3 will go on sale this week. According to recent data, its internal display will be smaller than that of the X2 model.
The founder of research companies Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch Ross Young (Ross Young) claims that the diagonal of the main screen will decrease from 8 to 7.85 inches. At the same time, interestingly, the external screen will allegedly remain at the same diagonal of 6.45 inches. True, the aspect ratio may change.
What is more important is the presence of an ultra-thin protective glass on the main screen. For Huawei, this will be the first foldable smartphone with such a glass, while Samsung has been using it for several years. But here it is worth recalling that, at least in Samsung smartphones, this glass is still covered with a protective plastic film on top, which is easy to scratch.
Early reports said that the Mate X3 will have a Snapdraogn 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC and a 4800mAh battery with 66W charging.

Big year for Skoda: the company will show the new Superb, Kodiaq, Scala and Kamiq

This year will be very important for Skoda. At a recent conference, the company confirmed that it is preparing several new products for this year, including a new generation of Superb and Kodiaq models and upgrades to the Scala and Kamiq models. However, this year we may not see the facelift of the fourth generation Octavia and the new generation of the Karoq model.
The Kamiq subcompact crossover and Scala compact hatchback will be the first to receive an intermediate facelift with design updates both inside and out. Enyaq’s large electric SUV will receive Laurin & Klement flagship equipment with new features. However, the price should not exceed the price of the RS model.
In addition, the announcement of the Skoda Elroq electric car, which will be a class below the Enyaq, may take place. Company chairman Klaus Zellmer said details would be released during April’s Explore More 2.0 event.
In the second half of the year, Skoda Auto is going to introduce a new generation of Superb and Kodiaq models with a plug-in hybrid drive. The former has been available as a PHEV for several years, the latter has not previously received a charging port. It is worth noting that the new Superb will no longer be produced in the Czech Republic, as production is moved to Bratislava, where it will be assembled alongside the mechanically related next-generation VW Passat.
Skoda Octavia should be updated in 2024, at the same time the presentation of the new VW Golf is expected. In the long term, there will be three electric vehicles by 2026: the Elroq, an entry-level vehicle that will replace the Citigo-e iV, and a seven-seat SUV based on the Vision 7S concept.
