Honor Unveils MagicBook Pro Multimedia Laptop

Large display, fast processor, ample memory and aluminum body – for about 900 euros (~ $ 1,054), the Honor MagicBook Pro offers everything a multimedia laptop needs.

Honor’s MagicBook Pro is a 16.1-inch multimedia laptop. Unlike the cheaper MagicBook models, which in turn are based on Huawei’s MateBook D models, the MagicBook Pro is based on the design of the more expensive MateBook models such as the MateBook 13 or MateBook X Pro. This gives customers a trendy and durable dark gray aluminum body.

Honor uses a Ryzen 5 4600H 45W ADM processor. Thus, the processor power is sufficient, and the integrated AMD Radeon RX Vega 6 GPU is sufficient for all common multimedia applications. However, gaming performance is not very high; so if you also want to play modern games on your laptop, you’d better look for a device with a dedicated GPU.

The matte IPS display is bright enough to fully cover the small sRGB color space. Since the display can be calibrated very well, nothing gets in the way of photo / video editing. 1920 x 1080 resolution, 16: 9 aspect ratio, 137 ppi, 60 Hz refresh rate.

The laptop is equipped with SSD WDC PC SN730 SDBPNTY-512G, of which 410 GB are available, the RAM is 16 GB DDR4. The weight of the device is 1.7 kg.

Cooling is fine too, because the two fans are usually completely off. Only under heavy load do they emit a fairly high frequency noise, which is a little annoying.
