High interest in Cyberpunk 2077 forced Google to close the promotion on Stadia ahead of schedule

Google ended its Stadia promotion with Cyberpunk 2077 ahead of schedule due to “overwhelmingly positive reception.” About it on Reddit reported representative of the company.

The action was planned to be held until December 17, 2020. Google offered to pre-order Cyberpunk 2077 and get a month’s Stadia Pro subscription, Chromecast, and a Stadia controller. This kit costs $ 99 without a game. A company representative said that users will receive orders placed before December 13th. In Canada, the deadline was reduced to December 10.

The main reason for the early closing of the action was the excitement at the release of the game. Pre-orders only, excluding first day sales, in full paid off development cost. The game was released on all fairly productive gaming platforms.

For many, a Stadia release is the most affordable way to get consistent frame rates. On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, players are experiencing performance issues due to poor optimization. New generation consoles have just launched, and shipments for everyone lacks… Also in short supply are powerful Nvidia video cards and AMD processors. In cloud services, the player does not need powerful hardware – only a stable Internet connection.

Google Stadia is not officially represented in Russia. To use it, the player needs an American Google account, an activation code (it comes with a starter kit) and a VPN. The recommended connection speed is 30 Mbps. You can play on TV with Chromecast, Pixel phones, and Chrome. Potential delays due to VPN usage and distance to servers.
