Hackers own the data of half of Facebook users? One user sells a database with information about 1.5 billion people

Yesterday’s massive failure of Facebook-owned platforms, which has already been called the largest in history, reportedly could coexist with one of the largest, or even the largest, user data breaches.

On one of the hacker forums, one of the users put up for sale a database with confidential data of more than 1.5 billion Facebook users. This is about half of all social network users. This has nothing to do with yesterday’s failure, since this hacker first announced that he owns such a database back in late September.

According to the hacker, the database includes names, email addresses, geolocation, gender, phone numbers and user IDs. At the same time, there is no question of hacking Facebook, since the information was obtained by parsing, when information is extracted bit by bit from public sources, and then systematized into a convenient format.

One of the forum users said that he was given an amount of $ 5,000 for the data of 1 million users. True, there are nuances. Firstly, several users stated that they had been deceived by this very hacker earlier, and another person said that he transferred money for fresh information, but has not received anything yet. Thus, it is possible that there is no database with information about 1.5 billion Facebook users. True, the examples cited by the hacker were recognized as reliable and unique, that is, they were not previously listed in such leaks.

The team of the popular messenger WhatsApp has begun testing a new convenient feature for users of the Android mobile application.

The beta version of WhatsApp for Android under the number 2.21.22.6 introduced the Undo function, which allows you to quickly remove an unsuccessful status sent by mistake or typed with typos. A few days ago, Microsoft opened to the public a long-awaited feature in the new Windows 11 operating system in test mode – the ability to run applications created for the Android operating system.

But even the beta test launch turned out to be very limited – only for test participants in the US and only for 50 applications.

Enthusiasts could not come to terms with this injustice. And so, the developer ADeltaX reported on his Twitter page about the found way to install Google Play services and the Google Play store in the Windows Subsystem for Android. In essence, this opens up the possibility of installing almost any Android application on a Windows 11 computer.

Users in China have a special love for Xiaomi Mi 6: many still believe that the company has not yet released a flagship that can replace this model. As a result, users still have a fairly large number of Mi 6s in their hands, which means that there are enough devices for experiments. The pictures below show the result of such an experiment.

One of the users managed to install Windows 11 on ARM on Mi 6. Of course, the system does not work super fast (the OS loads for more than a minute, some menus inside the OS itself take several seconds to load), but in general, Windows 11 on Mi 6 is quite efficient.
