Moore and his colleague Robert Noyce founded Intel in July 1968. Initially, Moore (until 1975) served as executive vice president, and then became president. In 1979, Moore was appointed chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer, positions he held until 1987. In 1997, Gordon Moore became the honorary chairman of the board of directors of Intel, and in 2006 he resigned. Prior to founding Intel, Moore and Noyce founded Fairchild Semiconductor, a company that played a key role in the development of the semiconductor industry. So, it was Fairchild Semiconductor that created the world’s first commercial integrated circuits.

During his life, Moore paid much attention to projects in the field of science and environmental protection. Together with his wife, he founded the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, which has donated more than $5.1 billion to charitable causes since its founding in 2000.

Gordon Moore defined the technology industry with his insight and vision. He was instrumental in unlocking the power of transistors and has inspired technologists and entrepreneurs for decades. We at Intel remain inspired by Moore’s Law and intend to follow it until the periodic table is exhausted.,” said Pat Gelsinger, CEO of Intel.

Hybrid Toyota RAV4 drove almost 2 thousand km without gasoline

Toyota cars are known for their reliability, and there are even quite a few extreme tests when the engines of a Japanese brand are forced to run without oil – and they are able to drive hundreds of kilometers like that. But without gasoline, Toyota cars with internal combustion engines have not yet learned how to drive. Another thing is a hybrid.

Startup Electreon is working on wireless charging technologies for electric vehicles and hybrids, integrated directly into the roadway. It was he who spoke about the world record for the range of electric driving without stopping for recharging – the RAV4 hybrid crossover, modified so that the charge of its traction battery is replenished directly while driving on a special road, turned out to be a participant in the record race. In the experiment, the crossover moved continuously for 100 hours and covered a distance of 1924 km during this time, powered exclusively by a traction battery with a capacity of 18 kWh.

Electreon said that during the entire experiment, the crossover wirelessly received 241.69 kWh of electricity. True, he had to move slowly, but in general the technology works. The car was moving not along an ordinary road, but along an oval-shaped polygon with an area with integrated wireless charging.

The developers of the technology plan to create a special hardware kit that can be installed on any electric car or hybrid so that it can be charged on the go. The technology is being tested in Sweden, France and Belgium.

As a reminder, FangChengBao is a new BYD brand for vehicles powered by new NEV energy sources, which was launched on May 15. Its name in English sounds like Equation Leopard or Formula Leopard. This is a premium brand that sits between Denza and Yangwang. Its price will range from $57,000 to $86,620, and the lineup will consist of SUVs and pickups.

The length of the FangChengBao SF is about 5 meters, and the power unit produces up to 680 hp. This is a plug-in hybrid PHEV with a combined range of 1200 km on the CLTC cycle. Tests of the car on public roads are already underway.

The salon is made in light gray and black colors. The seats are upholstered in perforated leather. The FangChengBao SF has thick pillars and large rear view mirrors. As for the central tunnel, it has a pair of cup holders, a gear selector and a set of physical buttons that control driving modes, an all-wheel drive system and other functions. The door panels have large chrome door handles. Under the central tunnel is a space for things.

The digital instrument panel is located directly behind the steering wheel. In the center is a large floating screen with a diagonal of at least 15 inches. The third screen is located in front of the front passenger.

The second row of seats feels too basic, with no screens in the back other than two USB ports. Recall that the model is called the “Chinese Gelendvagen”, it will compete with the Mercedes G-Class.

Sales should start soon.
