Google Will Release Its Own Processor for Smartphones and Laptops

It seems that after Apple, Google decided to start producing its own chips. Now the largest tech giant has begun building processors for smartphones and laptops. If all goes according to plan, the new chips could appear as early as next year, presumably in the Google Pixel.
According to the sources, Google is very happy with the results. There are no exact details on the technical characteristics yet. In addition to smartphones, the new chips will also be used in laptops that will be running Chrome OS.
Presumably the processors will be named Whitechapel. Google is working together with Samsung, and most likely the novelty will be produced using 5nm technology, and ARM will act as the architecture. The first prototypes are already ready, and if everything goes well, Google will soon be able to abandon the use of Qualcomm processors in their devices.
