Google Starts Refunds for Hardware Solutions Before Stadia’s Final Death
Cloud gaming service Google Stadia is living its last days, and now the search giant has announced the beginning of the refund process for hardware solutions.
Google is currently offering refunds for Founders Edition, Premiere Edition, Play and Watch with Google TV, and Stadia Controller bundles. At the same time, Stadia gamers will be allowed to continue playing until January 18, 2023, when the platform will be permanently shut down.
The search giant expects most of the funds to be returned just in time for mid-January.
The company started refunding money for games a month ago. Recall that Google immediately announced that it would return the money for all purchases within Stadia.
Despite the fact that the service itself will cease to exist, Google has stated that some of the platform’s technologies will be able to find application in other services of the company, including YouTube, but so far there are no details on this.
