Xiaomi has already entered the promising Pad 6 tablet into the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database, but the lineup will include not one, but three devices: Pad 6, Pad 6 Pro and Pad 6 Pro 5G. The source believes that Xiaomi will take a dual-platform approach to them.

This means that Qualcomm SoCs and Mediatek SoCs will be used simultaneously. In particular, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000. That is, in terms of performance, the top versions of Pad 6 will not be inferior to flagship smartphones. Also, Pad 6 is credited with more powerful charging technology – 120W instead of 67W. As the source notes, this is especially important for devices with a battery capacity of more than 8000 mAh. Other features of the Pad 6 include 144Hz screens, better audio, and a new version of MIUI for Pad.

SpaceX founder Elon Musk has posted some impressive new photos on his social media page showing the move of the Starship spacecraft to the new Starbase launch pad in Texas, Boca Chica.

In April of this year, the US Federal Aviation Administration delayed the completion of an environmental review of a new SpaceX launch site in Texas for the fourth time in five months. The FAA is now scheduled to publish its review, called the Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA), on May 31, the day after tomorrow.

SpaceX may only begin orbital launches of its massive Starship rocket once the FAA’s evaluation is complete. Elon Musk said in February that Starship would definitely go into orbit this year.

Last week, it was reported that a bench fire test was being carried out, during which two Raptor 2 engines exploded one after the other.

Xiaomi is apparently working on a foldable smartphone that resembles the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 in design. The corresponding patent was posted on the website of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). The patent application includes sketches of the device both open and closed. Judging by these images, when folded, the smartphone will be very compact.

The sketches also show a horizontal camera module (reminiscent of the Google Pixel 6 camera) with three holes for sensors. However, one of them may well be designed for LED flash. The speaker holes, the SIM card slot and the USB Type C connector are located on the bottom end, and the power button and volume control are visible on the right side. According to the sketches, it is not clear what the front camera of the new Xiaomi clamshell will be. Perhaps the company will decide to use camera technology under the display (Camera Under Panel, CUP), like Xiaomi MIX Fold.
