Google has decided to close its next brainchild. This time, we are talking about an experimental children’s application Rivet, which turned out to be very popular.

The app was launched in 2018 in beta at the Area 120 incubator for pilot projects, and in May 2019 it left beta on iOS and Android platforms.

Google launches children's app under the knife with more than 10 million installations

The popularity of the application cannot be questioned – the number of its installations has exceeded 10 million, and the number of ratings exceeds 40 thousand.

As announced by Google, mobile and web applications will be closed on October 16, 2020. All user data will be deleted on November 13th.

The only consolation is that Rivet is waiting for a “rebirth” in the coming winter as part of the Google Assistant voice assistant project.
