Google Chrome doesn’t have that. Microsoft Edge introduces Performance Mode to improve CPU, memory, and battery usage
Microsoft has begun testing a useful innovation in the proprietary Microsoft Edge browser for the Windows 10 operating system. We are talking about performance mode.
The new mode became available to some test takers in Microsoft Edge Canary 91 build, while others can manually activate it using a special flag.
Microsoft describes the innovation as follows:
Performance Mode helps you optimize speed, response time, memory, processor, and battery usage. Performance improvements can vary based on user preferences and habits.
According to enthusiasts who tested the innovation, in “production mode” the Sleeping Tabs function is activated after five minutes of inactivity at a particular site. By default, Sleeping Tabs is activated after two hours of inactivity.
At the same time, Edge monitors resource-intensive processes running in the background, such as playing music or videos, and does not allow them to go to sleep.
As a reminder, the Sleeping Tabs feature was launched by Microsoft in the Edge browser in early 2021. It improves performance by reducing the consumption of system resources for tabs that have been left open for a long time without being used.
However, the new mode affects not only Sleeping Tabs, but also some other browser settings to improve performance. However, the exact details of this are still unknown. In stable builds of Microsoft Edge for general users, the production mode should appear towards the end of the year.

You can turn off “Recommendations” in mobile Chrome

Google is preparing to introduce an innovation that will delight many users of the mobile version of the proprietary Chrome browser.
We are talking about the ability to remove the Discover ribbon (Recommendations) from the Chrome New Tab page. On mobile versions of the Google Chrome browser, the new tab page currently hosts a search bar, most viewed websites, and two content feeds. One of them is the traditional Google Discover channel (Google Recommendations), which shows a list of articles recommended for the user by Google algorithms.
Soon, the browser should be able to remove this feed – using a special flag #feed-ablation, which will appear on the chrome://flags page. It’s already available in an early test build of Chrome Canary, and is expected to be released with the release of stable Chrome 103 next month.

WhatsApp will stop working on iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. From autumn, the messenger will not be supported on iOS 10 and iOS 11

According to the WABetaInfo resource, which tracks all the innovations in the messenger, the application developers will stop supporting devices running iOS 10 and iOS 11 this year. This will happen on October 24th.
Thus, in the fall, WhatsApp will stop working on smartphones such as the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. This data is confirmed by the WhatsApp Help Center, which indicates that the application requires iOS 12 (and higher) and Android 4.1 (and higher) to work.
Apple is expected to unveil iOS 16 at WWDC 2022 in June. It will introduce many new features, but at the same time, the new OS will not be supported by a number of the company’s popular phones – iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and first generation iPhone SE.

Even Windows 11 has already been updated to Android 12.1. Microsoft has updated the subsystem Windows Subsystem for Android

Microsoft continues to develop the idea of combining Windows and Android. Recently, the company announced the release of an update to the Windows Subsystem for Android subsystem for its current OS.
One of the main innovations is the transition to Android 12.1 (12L). The current public version is based on Android 11. Initially, the update is only available through the Dev Channel. When it will become available to everyone is still unclear.
Microsoft notes that updating to Android 12.1 may result in some apps not running. She does not specify which ones, but it probably refers to some old programs.
The update also strengthens the integration of Android into Windows. For example, pop-up messages are first displayed as Windows notifications. The taskbar now shows if an Android app is accessing your microphone or location.
The company also states that Android apps should work better after waking the computer from standby. Instead of restarting, they should just resume where they left off.
