Apple doesn’t seem to be ruling out the return of the iconic glowing logo that used to be an integral part of laptop lids. This element was abandoned 7 years ago, but now it looks like it might be making a comeback.

Glowing logo may return to Apple laptops - the corresponding patent has been published

A new patent filed by Apple in May 2022 and published last week by the US Patent and Trademark Office describes different implementations of partial-mirror logo lighting. Judging by the published image, we are talking about the return of the classic design.

Three engineers who joined the company in 218 are working on the project. Apparently, the new version of the logo will be different from the original, although it is not yet clear on what technological basis it will be built.

Note that the first MacBook with a glowing Apple logo was the PowerBook G3, released in 1999. And in 2015 it was abandoned. The then-introduced 12-inch MacBook received a simple polished logo.

Earlier it was reported that Apple refused to announce the new MacBook and Mac mini in 2022.

But the problem with the butterfly keyboard will definitely not

Apple has launched a project to develop a 20.25-inch foldable mobile device. Probably, we are talking about a folding MacBook.

Interestingly, the project allegedly does not have a specific plan for commercialization, and Apple took up development in order to keep up with the market. At the same time, there is a forecast according to which a similar product can enter the market in 2027.

But the problem with the butterfly keyboard will definitely not happen again. Apple is working on a folding MacBook with a flexible screen

When unfolded, the screen diagonal, as already mentioned, will be 20.25 inches, and when folded it will be 15.3 inches. At the same time, to implement the Apple project, you need to use OLED screens. Resource The Elec says that to begin with, the company should transfer the rest of the MacBook and iPad to such panels, although it is not very clear why different products cannot have different types of panels. However, we have heard more than once about the company’s plans to release iPad Pro with OLED screens. As for the MacBook, the source says that Apple plans to release such models with OLED screens in 2025.

Also recall that earlier on the Web there were rumors that Apple is working on a foldable tablet. It may come out before a foldable laptop.
