During SID 2022 Display Week, Samsung Display unveiled a new foldable device called the Flex Note, which could very well turn into a next-generation commercial laptop.

Flex Note resembles a hybrid of a foldable laptop and a tablet. It has the same design as the Galaxy Z Fold series, but its dimensions make the device look like a laptop. It looks like the device also works on Windows, as you can see the start menu in the bottom left corner of the screen.

When expanded, the keyboard may disappear to free up more screen space when watching a video. Another design benefit is the option that allows you to customize the appearance of the keyboard. It can be monochrome or multi-colored.

LG at the same event showed an OLED device that can be folded and unfolded 360 degrees.

Even though LG officially exited the smartphone business last year, the company is actively developing new displays. At this year’s Display Week, LG announced that its research and development team has successfully created a foldable OLED device that can be folded and unfolded 360 degrees.

LG Display has unveiled an 8.03-inch foldable OLED touch screen. The uniqueness of this display lies in the fact that the panel can be folded with the screen in or out. It can be left at any angle from 0 to 360 degrees.

In terms of durability, LG is said to use UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) technology for the foldable OLED, and the outer screen is covered with an anti-fingerprint material. LG also claims that the 360 ​​Foldable OLED screen is rated for 200,000 folds under normal use. Its resolution is 2480 x 2200 pixels, the density is 413 pixels per inch. The display covers 109.9% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Brightness is 430 cd/m² in typical situations and can reach 600 cd/m² in difficult situations.

The company also showed a 17-inch foldable OLED panel that folds up to 180 degrees and looks like a laptop without a keyboard.

In February of this year, Lenovo introduced the ThinkPad T14 and T16 laptops, and now the company has an “intermediate” model – the ThinkPad T15p. The novelty is based on 12 generation Intel Core processors. In particular, it is equipped with 14-core Core i7-12800H and Core i7-12700H. And the discrete 3D accelerator Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 is responsible for graphics processing and image output.

ThinkPad T15p is equipped with DDR5 RAM, the maximum amount is 64 GB. There are two M.2 slots for installing an SSD. The base display of the model is with Full HD resolution and coverage of 100% of the sRGB color space. The top version is equipped with a screen with a resolution of 4K and coverage of 100% of the AdobeRGB color space. The diagonal of the screens is 15.6 inches.
