Its high time to retire Peugeot Pars Peugeot 405 discontinued

Iran Khodro (IKCO) has discontinued production of the Peugeot Pars sedan (restyled Peugeot 405), as reported by the insider telegram channel “Autopotok”.

The “farewell” took place ahead of schedule (Pars was originally planned to be discontinued in April). The discontinuation of production is due not only to the obsolescence of the model and the physical obsolescence of die equipment, but also to the tightening of certification requirements for new cars in Iran.

The fact is that from this year all new cars in Iran must have an ESP system, a gear shift indicator, a tire pressure sensor, and daytime running lights. IKCO considered that it was not economically feasible to implement these functions in Pars.

Peugeot Pars were produced for almost 24 years, with production in Iran starting a few years after the assembly of the original model ceased: the Peugeot 405 was produced in France in 1987-1997.

The platform and frame elements of this model are used in the more modern IKCO Soren+ model, the production of which will be increased.

Ford followed the path of Tesa buyers of the 2024

Ford has announced that 2024 Mustang buyers have a new factory option that gives the car a matte finish.

This is not paint, but a matte film (Matte Clear Film), which is applied to a body painted in any color, resulting in a smooth matte surface.

“Mustang has been committed to driving freedom and freedom of expression for 60 years, and our new matte clear film gives customers an entirely new way to make the Mustang theirs,” said Mustang program chief engineer Laurie Transu.

As for the Dark Horse version, the Matte Clear Film option requires the removal of the hood accent strip.

This option adds $6,000 to the price of the vehicle, and Ford says the film can be removed later, but should only be done by a professional shop.

The Matte Clear Film option will be available to order starting February 27th. Deliveries of the coupe will begin in June. Convertibles will arrive at dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Last fall, Tesla began wrapping Model 3 and Model Y with film for $7,500–$8,000.
